I find it relaxing to watch you work as you explain each step as you go. In fact, I like watching all your videos as you go about whatever task you are working on. You have the same attention to detail that I like to do. There used to be a sign on the wall where I worked that said "If you don't have time to do the job right, when will you have time to do it over?" I think that sums up pretty well your approach to jobs.

Your being a professional inmate at the Ford Dealership makes the presentation you just showed look like a task so easy that most anybody could do. That being said, now I have a basic idea how to swap out the seat belt tensioner when it eventually craps the bed on my 2011 Ford Fiesta that has 250,000 miles on it.

Negative Norm here. I was pretty appalled that you were parting with Old Blue back when you announced it. Was rather surprised (maybe disappointed) that you hadn't decided to "rust-ore" it and keep it going. I guess I'm sort of past that negativity now. Gotta tell ya... I didn't think I'd ever find an interior swap so interesting. Of course, the magic of video editing in post-production helps a lot, but I`ve gotta say that it`s far more interesting to watch a professional do his work, than to see a complete amateur (or weekend warrior) bumble through it. Looking forward now to seeing other steps in this series. Sure never thought 3 or 4 weeks ago that I`d be saying that.

I was a mechanic for 30 years and it was my experience that the difference between a professional job and a half a$$ job was at what level of OCD the mechanic had, more OCD the better the work.

Add in some ADD and when they look at a piece of equipment they see all the loose things then the OCD kicks in and they fix them.

I just got a new (to me) RED 2001 F-150 super cab XLT. While installing a trailer brake controller, I noticed two gun barrel looking things, on both sides, under the center seat. Now I know what they are, seatbelt tensioners! Thanks, and glad I didn't start messing with them. I haven't checked behind the back seat yet for contraband!?!? Great channel! I have learned a lot over the years watching.....

You should spray some bar and chain oil on the underside and then drive it through some dust. Miles ahead of any other method when it comes to rust management. It's not a solid layer, therefore it can't crack, and once it seals up (because of the dust) it becomes a very thick oily sludge that doesn't fall off. IMHO, the best kind of rust prevention i've ever used.

I am with you. I worked on heavy equipment and when it was time for a oil change I take it to the dealer. But when it comes to my 1926 Oldsmobile which is unrestored just repaired and my 1936 Chevrolet 5 window coupe hot rod then I don't mind doing the work I get the same enjoyment as you do with your d2 caterpillars. Enjoyed it quite a bit. Had to do all the same stuff on my 6.4 a couple of times during various projects, fumbled through blindly the first time, took forever. Was cool to see someone with a lot of experience just jet through not one but two in just an evening. Worst thing I ever had to do was swap all the rusted, rotten body mounts on that truck. Nothing like laying on your back reefing on a cheater pipe with rust raining in your face. Thanks Squatch.

Absolutely loved this video Squatch! I eagerly await the next one where you tear into the dash trim etc. I have a 2000 F150 with the goofy odometer light that I would like to fix but quite honestly, the trim scares me. Sure as heck I'll miss a bolt or a clip and break something and I really don't want to do that over something as small as that light. Pure vanity on my part and it shouldn't matter for an old farm truck, but it was the first vehicle I bought myself out of high school. Slight sentimental value I suppose. Thank you for the entertainment and the teaching!

Once everything was out I thought you would have at least wiped out the inside or made mention out if to get the fine dust and hair out. You however made that seem so quick and easy. It would take me at least two days to get the same out and then 3 days to get it back in. just for 1 vehicle.

Had an 04 i swapped seats on with my cousins truck. He wanted the center seat and I wanted his center console. Bonus is I got the power seats too. Was even the same color.

I learned a long time now, seat belts are better directed to help you steer clear of a problem and only works if your not tail gating so please dont tail gate. Under the no tail gate is also a fine of reckless endangerment fine

I remember when you said you weren't thrilled with the tan interior (they help in AZ). Was worried about dash,head liner, door panels....but should have know your eye would explode if change over wasn't an "all components" project. The dog hair/smell cinched it....you were working "Flat Rate" speed.....

I can see swapping seats etc and not going all new because of expense but I think I would of splurged on the heavy duty commercial rubber flooring instead of a carpet floor for easy clean up and not soaking up smells. Plus I would of added floor pan drain plugs for hosing out mud etc..

Trim tools come in multipacks (various shapes) for a few notes. Not worth making your own.

I was going to say sometime back swap interiors. But figured you didn't have time and yes not big deal swapping everything. My 99 ranger was green with gray interior with 01 explorer V8 damn near plug and play if l left it AWD. I wanted part time transfer case so advance adapters fixed this problem. Do add wire (ground) in instrument cluster to make tach read for V8. My 99 Ranger gotten every rusty, so took powertrain, fuel system and wiring stuck it in 2003 sonic blue Ranger level II. My brother has 2000 Ranger with tan interior and yes it has V8 too LOL. We changed his Ranger to gray interior, with gray Explorer power seats and center console. HVAC controls do work in Explorer console. Bad part in April had hit and run lost my 2003 ranger. Funny part went from 2003 Ranger sonic blue level II to 2005 Ranger sonic blue Level II. I just got it back together with V8 overhauled now had 240,000 miles on didn't use oil. Think was I have it out now 3 times, once from 01 explorer, 99 ranger, 03 ranger time for rebuilt and trans same miles. Trans no clutch wear, seals still soft and pistons seals about 1/4 worn off compared to new seals. I have manual transfer case in it now because electric BW1354 stick in 4WD and bang when it finally when back to 2WD. Change electric motor fix for awhile, did change t-case once it and did the same. Funny my brothers Ranger won't go into 4WD when cold. Switch is wired in for 4-HI and 4 LOW just ground that makes indictor lights come on

I recently bought it and the interior is in a sad condition due to it being owned by a logging company since it was new I have the title to prove that I'm the second owner. Mine needs pretty much everything you are doing. I will also add more insulation and things of that nature as I plan on using this truck for a very long time

No need to buy a new cover cap for the seat studs nor try to melt the push nut back in place to keep it from wandering around. Just fill the cavity where the push nut was with RTV (just the deepest cavity, not the entire cap) and push it down over the stud. The RTV will conform to the irregular shape cavity and stud threads locking the cap in place. If it ever needs to come out again just pry it off and repeat the RTV again when putting it back on. Or just throw it away, it is only to keep the exposed stud from being a nuisance snag anyhow.
