For anyone wondering, they all follow 5/3/1. They also swear by foam rolling and stretching prior to working out as it is the most effective way to activate the muscles.

Check out the press video from starting strength and the art of manliness. It's a way to get a little hip drive into the press. It's tough to master but once you do, it makes a world of difference.

Alan Thrall Hey Alan. can you address hit shifting to one side while squatting. I know you briefly talked about it. the issue is that it's sort of causing my torso to rotate. But if I keep one leg elevated, it's better. Any permanent fixes?

@alanthrall I'm assuming he kept telling you to get off your heels. Toes kept comin off the floor. Little cue that's helped me is pushing my knees forward more as opposed to out as much while still maintaining my weight over my whole foot of course. You might experience a slightly more pronounced lean on the way up which is all good. Embrace the lean (assuming the bar stays static).

Baraki's first set there (315) is a great visual example of hip drive. He's visibly squatting like he's just a pair of legs with an ass, if that makes sense, like his torso is just incidentally attached.

I was wondering why they were doing just one rep. When I was 19 I was squatting 505 for 5 or 6 reps but that was my work set. Would like to get back to that using starting strength at 53.

both high bar and front squat if you're talking about oly lifting. But I think you should get real coaching if you're going to start doing that, don't just watch youtube videos. There's a lot of foundation you need to build to do those lifts properly, not just squats.

Soul of Joelsuf read starting strength, look at any powerlifter, look at professional athletes. Low bar significantly improves the usage of the posterior chain which is more necessary for explosive movements. I used to squat ass to grass for high bar and front, got big quads but always had week hamstrings, then I made low bar my primary and used high bar and front rack as accessory lifts.
