Easily some of the hardest Pokémon fights I’ve seen. Saxton is one hell of a fight if none of your team is Psychic. I guess I should've elaborated and said I didn't have any psychic types on my team, or, to my knowledge, any flying types either during my first playthrough. When I did, he was a lot easier. Regardless it definitely shows how much your ass is gonna get kicked if you aren't prepared. Saxton wasn't as difficult my second time, but Ben of all fights turned out to almost beat me my first go round.

Saxton and Tyrone are probably the most team specific. They are either complete pushovers, or royal pains in the ass, with very little inbetween. Tyrone in particular can be very, very weak if you have answers to his dangerous threats, as his team is very shaky around the fringes. Rekroach is kinda unacceptable, and Uwott does nothing for his team composition. Ginosaji suffers from success. The Ghost type is VERY strong in Clover, so while he has a very good team, the player themselves are very likely to be bringing something like a Spilefree, Premantom, or, E4 round 1 king Spookzilla that just wipes his squad. His team is just a bit too frail to hold up, but he can absolutely gut an unprepared team. Unjoy and Sprucifex are good wincons, but for how smart Clover's AI is, he's too aggressive with them. Overall, he's probably tied with Tyrone for the weakest member, but trades the potential to wreck certain teams for explosive power that can snowball momentum harshly if he gets some good rng or the player makes some poor choices. Bendova is probably the hardest consistently. Through a couple playthroughs and two Nuzlocke attempts, there is exactly ONE pokemon that is a uniformly good answer to Ben, Oburanyxo, and even it can't handle everything. Tyrone and Saxton can be pains if you don't prepare for them, amd with a bit of luck, but there's no such thing as an easy Bendova. The unwelcome guest is a pushover, assuming you made the objectively correct starter choice and took the Fire starter for yourself. And the champ is really, really strong, but her AI flips out if too much of her team gets statused, and really, once her two aces are down, it's just a war of attrition. As an aside, Oburanyxo, Spookzilla, and Semdemen/Premantom is probably the single best core for the E4 and champ. They handle almost every single pokemon there marvelously, and cover eachother pretty well. Semdemen is better than Premantom for most purposes, but both fill similar roles, Premantom is mostly just better against Marleyzard, and is less valuable for Ebin in a Nuzlocke, so is an ideal for a back pocket sac. Goryanus is a bit better than Spookzilla for the rematch, just remember it's slower for Ginosaji.

Their Team depends on your pokemon level when your rematching them includig the ebin Gym leaders.

Yes. You have to clear Ebin first, their levels scale to yours, with the sole exception of the Champion's Ace (you know the one) who sadly remains at 99, even if the rest of their team is 100. Most members have significantly reworked teams, and end up much stronger, though, maybe it was just my team comp, but I feel like rematch Saxton Hale is an absolute pushover compared to round 1, and the champion's team looses a lot of oomph and momentum from their Ace not having the usual level advantage, turning it from one of the most threatening pokemon in the game, into an exploitable weak link on the champ's team. It probably isn't that hard if you bring the powerful postgame legendaries, but if you can, bringing your original team, +- a new face can be essentially the greatest challenge in the game, since they generally have outs to most of the broken round 1 options the player has access to.

The game is so much easier in "set" style. Like god damn. They were destroying me, but the moment i switched to "set" - i got the upper hand. Probably because with "switch" AI will always choose perfectly, while in "set" their cheating is limited, so they play much more manageable for our human memory, plus they get 1 turn wasted on ineffective pokemon once it KO's yours. I've seen people say that "set" is more difficult, and it's just hilariously not true.

I disagree... In set, the CPU always Will choose the pokemon that goes advantage against yours because the AI already knows what moves your pokémon have... Maybe the AI can predict to which pokémon you wanna change. Switch is better why i can revert this advantage for me applying a thumder wave / toxic / whatever buff move for me while the AI will change the pokemon in the same turn.
