Keith Wilkinson is an absolute monster on bass.. His sound instantly recognisable. I saw Squeeze at Newcastle City Hall 11/1/90 a fantastic concert.

Thanks for sharing Steve never seen this before. We did meet once, you bought a Squeeze ticket off me I had spare. We met outside a tube station in London a few years back.

Yes! I remember it very well. I literally flew in to Heathrow and met you. The ticket was for D&T at the Union Chapel.

Steve, just came across this one. Great timepiece. Always been very fond of “Frank”. This made me realize again how much I miss Keith Wilkinson being in the band. Nice guy, had a couple of great conversations with him in London mid-90’s. Bought me a pint one night in 1996 when I really shouldn’t have had another.

What a great documentary thanks. It took a surprisingly dark turn half way through, and watching it I certainly got the impression that all wasn't well. Jools was the happiest, but then he was semi-detached by this point anyway, while I think Chris and Glenn had been worn down by the lack of commercial success, despite the quality of their music.

Chris always seemed depressed in those days...

I'm amazed that there was actually VH1 Documentary to publicize this album! Did it actually air on VH1?lol I was under the impression this album received no push at all from the record company and unfortunately tanked. Which was surprising since it followed the successful Babylon and On album. Thank you for posting. Love the Frank album and all of the subsequent albums as well. Even though their now "trapped" as an 80's band I think their best work has been since Frank onward right up to From the Cradle and the Grave

+Saturn100 Yes, I recorded this from VH1 back in the day. I'm pretty sure it only aired once.

This must have been filmed during one of Tillbrook's & Diffords famous falling outs.Can feel the chill from here.Glenn can hardly look at Chris.
@duffbaker95545 жыл бұрын
No, they actually crack up in laughter during their segment together from time to time. Don't know exactly what Glenn is smoking, but whatever it is, it's without a filter. I believe the falling-out would come later in the 90's when Chris refused to tour overseas but insisted on getting a cut of the performing fees. Glenn said "no" to that nonsense. Glad they've patched things up since then.

Great for Squeeze fans. Aside from Jools ,the boys seem a bit shy. Love the "English English" lyrics of the earlier albums. Frank was a highpoint in overall quality. It reminded me ,in spots , of the earlier work. Any album with Jools Holland is a plus for me. Dr Jazz is amazing. Later albums had lots of great music

For years and years I had a VHS of Squeeze playing what I think was a New Years Eve show. Jules was in the band and Glenn was playing a black Tele. It was a fantastic concert. I think it may have been late 80s. Jules introduced the band and I remember he quipped about Keith being a new member and how hard it is to be a late-comer; "I remember when I joined the Beatles......." :--) I've lost it (not that I have a VHS player anymore). Is there a fan out there who knows how I can get a copy on DVD?

"Frank" is perhaps not their best effort as compared with other "lps" ( yep .. we referred to them as LP - Long Players - Albums etc ). Having said that, it is still a very fine collection of great songs by one of the best bands to come out of England. How is it that Squeeze has never been nominated for the Rock and Roll Hall of fame considering the crap that has been nominated and voted it. To quote a line from one of their songs "it baffles me".
@kilgoretrout39666 жыл бұрын
they will in time, there is no more Rock and Roll, so they will get in eventually.
