🎵🎶🎸'Sunlight on the lino' - one of my all time favourite classic lines. Excellent songwriting & an evergreen classic song.

I love Chris Difford's gruff vocal harmonies, just one of the factors that make Squeeze so distinctive. That and his amazing lyrics. This is my favourite Squeeze track.
@peterwhent66 Жыл бұрын
Trivia fact: It's not a harmony. Chris Difford sings exactly the same note as Glenn just one octave lower. It's their sound. Quite unique and quite brilliant.

Back in the 80s I was totally into the Beatles. But these guys are next. If I had followed squeeze more I would have been completely crushing on them. Excellent songwriters and adorable.

Marty my good man, that is not a lip sync job. It sounds nothing like the studio album cut. Squeeze pulls off a clean live show - seen em several times.
@matthewstetson18403 жыл бұрын
Heh. It's obviously lip syncing which isn't the end of the world.

@@matthewstetson1840 Nope. Not lip synched. He sings "bar room" instead of "pool room" in the first line. Also he's just a touch flat towards the middle of the song. In his 60s Glenn still sings this nearly flawlessly.
