Netflix's Squid Game: The Challenge - a compilation edit of Mai Whelan's (player #287 ) and her journey of survival to beat out 455 other players in the shark tank.
"Who won Squid Game The Challenge?" "Who was the winner of Squid Game The Challenge, season one?" ... these are questions many are asking (who I assume either don't have Netflix or aren't interested enough to watch).
Sorry if this is a spoiler for you.... but this video walks you through the highlights of player #287 throughout the 10 episodes -- including her key interactions with other players and how she played the various games and challenges to stay alive and make it to the final round to face Phill (player #451) and Sam (#016).
I've also included key clips from Mai's interviews where she talks about her background coming to the USA as a refugee at the age of eight, her struggles and challenges after joining the U.S. Navy and becoming a single parent when she was 19 as well as how her job as an Immigration Adjudicator for the Department of Homeland Security helped her during Squid Games.

What do you all think of Mai and her abilities as a player? What about her “beef” with Ashley #278? (I know she has some defenders out there). Did anyone else think it was weird that none of the other players had Mai’s back when she criticized Ashley’s behavior during the Glass Bridge? (seemed like some serious gaslighting to me). Is Mai a deserving winner? Who were you rooting for to win it all?

Mai is my girl and she deserved it. Everyone was trying to play nice when there were only a few people left. #278 went against the whole "team" and then claimed they were part of the team the next game...With the dice game, she did her thing...#286 was my second favorite after Mai. He was against everyone until he got chosen... They all started to become friendly, and that took out a lot of players. The present game only had winners when the person chosen, chose their best friend...It's brutal, but only one would win.

she deserves to win. she has all the qualities of a real human that we all can relate. she's just herself, she makes mistakes(abt TJ) but own it and redeemed herself, she makes hard decisions (she has the biggest balls among the contestants😆 calling out ashley to bring justice to trey). she's super smart and strategize. her experiences and training in her jobs (as adjudicator and a navy) became an advantage to her. she's been through a lot in her life, so she had good fate on her side as well.

Mai really made the show for me during the second half. Some made it to the end through luck or without having to stain their image, but not her. She played the game in all it's layers, had to make choices that made her look bad in front of others, and had to betray her friends when the games became free-for-all. Plus she called another player stupid in the confessionals for going along with the plan prior to agreeing to do it herself. I also agree that it's a little hypocritical of Mai to try and eliminate Ashley when they all agreed to roll for themselves. However, I believe she only did that because she knew everyone supported Ashley and if she told anyone about her plan they would likely all agree to attempt to eliminate her. My main gripe is with all of the players acting like what Mai did is any worse than what Ashley did. Mai is a fine winner. Obviously she did some questionable acts there at the end, but it is part of game. Would love to see Rolands reactions to watching this.. I would've been fine with any of the circle of trust competitors winning, except Ashey probably. Ashley seemed to have a malicious part to her selfishness.

I always knew that people start to underestimate Mai and blindly worship TJ just like how this society would. Mai took advantage of it and survived the first half by not looking like a threat and survived the second half by showing her true strength and players literally avoided to challenge her. Cool af! 🎉

A lot of people criticise her for not trusting TJ until it suited her and not trusting anyone when it suited her but unlike Ashley I think she was truly justified. The English girl had a really good plan to get herself through by forcing a girls alliance during the late-game but she didn’t account for some of the girls having guy friends they prioritise (e.g Mai with Chad). When TJ chose Mai to stay, Mai had to prioritise her friend over a shaky alliance which the girls felt like she was throwing the alliance under the bus. Furthermore, she did say she didn’t trust TJ but TJ trusted her a lot and when she saw that she was happy to trust him back. TJ, Mai and Chad would easily be the strongest team at the end if TJ survived the glass bridge even if most of the girls alliance survived. Mai played her alliances really well but was too friendly with all the sides that wanted her which forced her to choose so of course people are gonna question who she stands with. It’s not like Ashley who suddenly wants to be everyone’s friend and a team player as soon as she’s on the chopping block which is ultimately a dick move.

I was rooting for Mai especially after Leann and Trey got out. She became my favourite especially since SHE PLAYED THE GAME! There was strategy there! So many players were just coasting through with their alliance and yeah that’s a strategy but hers was better and she’d cut a throat if needed.

Ashley seems like a really cool person in "real life". She even said in an interview that she couldn't believe the things she said on camera. However, my problem with Ashley is that she was not a team player, nor a strong character, nor a particularly interesting character. At one point I found myself rooting for her wife (when she was still in the game), although after what happened on the tile bridge, I don't understand what she was trying to accomplish? Crying, being a victim, putting herself under so much stress only to clearly show her true colors in the end? Every single player has paid for their betrayal in this game, but Ashley's betrayal had gone unnoticed. Also, Ashley got revenge on Mai for nominating her for elimination and still tried to convince Mai that she was in the right and that she was "crying out for teamwork". I don't get it. Even after the match was over, Ashely still thought she played fair and square? Girl, not sure if it was the water, the food or the plain air, but the delulu in that person was unbearable to watch...

She got so corrupted, maybe she didn't ever learn in school how to think for herself. Not only was she acting maliciously it was incredibly idiotic, she was number 5 in her position she should have taken the deal and done one jump without a second thought if not from the godness of her heart then to save her own face. But at least she made a good villan 😆

Ashley is the most selfish player of this edition. She is also the DENIAL QUEEN. She felt she’s gonna make it till the end, but thankfully, she got eliminated. But I also didn’t like Mai’s way of sacrificing Roland in the Circle of Trust. 😢 She’s just a strategic player and in the end, that’s how she won.

They started to act and put rules about friendship then watch MAiï like wtf 😂😂. Its not a friendship camp . They eliminated others earlier by being in final and noone of them said ..fuck im so guilty , let me switch with my body wich got eliminated earlier cause he ddidnt deserved it anf i loved him . I could have jumped before him but nah i left him . 😂😂 But now they like , lets hug and be friends 😂. Even if MAï didnt win , noone of them would give his money for friends they made in this game . Hypocrites . Same about society , all about hypocrites😂😂😂. GG MAï
