​@@pyxlified What I've noticed is, a lot of Asian movies & series shoot their sequels or seasons back-to-back, & the latter half is released less than a year later. For example, for the live-action Anime adaptation of Rurouni Kenshin, there were 5 movies. The 2nd & 3rd movies were shot back-to-back, and same with the 4th & 5th movies. I assume it's so that they can release them much faster, because usually sequels or another season would take like 2-3 years to be filmed & released. It might be more efficient honestly, as you see in America, we are stuck waiting so many years for a sequel or a new season to so many movies & shows. Whereas over there, they just hire the Actors to shoot the sequels or future seasons all at once.

Stayed up until 2am, to binge the entire season in one sitting prior to work lmao. Unfortunately, it was disappointing imo. What they did with the Frontman was super interesting, that was the best dynamic of this season imo. I suspected the fisherman was fishy already. The cop had one of the most interesting plotlines of season 1, but him & that crew Gi-Hun formed in the beginning basically did nothing the entire season. Gi-Hun's plan at the end was such a poor plan as well, led a lot of men into their deaths.

My observation: 1) The uprising doesn’t make sense for the people who participated. Many wish to go home WITH THE PRIZE MONEY. They would stand a better chance to kill more of the “stayers” in the dark than to go up against an unknown number of armed guards. Even if they succeed in over throwing the game masters, wouldn’t they be in jeopardy of walking out without the money? The game might be rigged so that they won’t be let go for one reason or another, but I found it hard to believe some of the raiders would’ve supported the coup before the night attack began. 2) the boat captain was hired by the Front Man to search and save his brother. He is in cohort with the Front Man. Edit: I think after the rescue, the Front Man had the Captain to make sure the police/little bro cannot locate the island and hence stay safe. 3) The Front Man’s story is true. It was probably his motivation to join and win the game in 2015. However, he probably went home and found out his wife (and unborn child) died. He spoke about his story as if it is in the present tense but in fact it happened already. 4) I kinda understand why they went with a different direction than the first season, but the viewers were more interested in seeing the games. Instead, we get a shootout for a climax, and the cop/brother’s arc is quite boring.

Hey that's fair points. But the ones joining the rebellions are the X guys, they don't want to continue the game, the O ones don't join the rebellion. But they cannot fight back because the X ones have all the guns and ammo. One critical feedback I got Since season 1 is when there were final 3 with sae byeok, why didn't they vote to end the game? It would be 2-1 at worst and they each would left with plenty money.

Remember, the people participating in the uprising were the people voting to leave. They knew that night it was going to be all out warfare regardless. It's understandable in that situation that Seong Gi-hun tries to convince them to direct their anger towards the people running the competition - something that's very plausible given the situation they are in. I agree though that this is not strictly rationale - but quite a lot of the actions on this show are not driven by pure rationality including Seong Gi-hun's decision in the first place to participate again in the games. I was personally quite glad there wasn't as big a focus on the games this time. The voting component was genius in my view because in some ways it mirrors the polarisation of our society and how easily people can be manipulated. I think there was genuinely some strong character development in this season with the new contestants and some decent surprises along the way. Although, the key problem with this show has been the predictability. Like it was obvious the fisherman was working in lockstep with the game organisers - how could they not find the island over that period of time. There's also too much plot armour around the main characters - they need more Game of Thrones style deaths as everybody who dies seems to die at the right time.

I binge watched all of Season 2 last night and thought that it was good but not great when compared to the first season for a few reasons; (1) 8 episodes instead of 7 would have been just right to explore ongoing character storylines as well as to introduce new contextual content. (A lot of viewers have expressed their dissatisfaction with this) (2) More exciting and thrilling games could have been included (but seeing as the competition is still in progress whilst the season has ended means that it's still possible) (3) Gi-hun's plan to end the games becomes ridiculous when he decides to turn Rambo on the guards despite knowing that he and the remaining players are trapped, outnumbered and powerless. (It would have been far more interesting if he had re-entered the games with a mystery guard helping him from the inside) (4) The finale felt rushed and underwhelming with several important questions remaining unanswered (e.g who and where were the VIPs for whom the games were made for? How are guards selected for the games and what happens to them?) etc Overall however, I thought that it was very well written with the best production standards and captivating performances from the whole cast. My score: 8.5 / 10

Season 2 was way too predictable. Knew that the captain is fishy. Cause he saved the Masters , cop brother. Once the master shot his brother in s1 you could see that the shot was not a fatal one, so he spared his brother. And asked the Captain to save him. As in Season 1. A cliffhanger is literally an incomplete story. If you are mad that the writers left the characters hanging on a cliff waiting for the resolution, then it was an excellent cliffhanger, it did exactly what it was supposed to do, leave you eager to watch the resolution.

In my personal view, the reason why this season 2 ending like this (Protagonist's bestie death) is suggesting one of the most important facts in real life: 1. just like normal human being, not everything is very lucky and easy as you go and do, there's always be some turmoil to spice up your life. If you watch the season 1's ending, you will see he is the winner, which is very obviously good ending. So, it will be no doubt to set ending like this in season 2. Inevitability. 2. Take seasons 1 for example, this genre of tv series are continuely producted for every few years under in my estimation and observation. Perhaps it will set the community on fire if this tv series stop producing new seasons. This ending serves as a perfect suspension and pivot for the next season in the future

You guys forget that the main lead is not a very bright/clever person, even is shown clearly in Season 1. He's clumsy, rushing, way too empathic and trusting people. Him winning season 1 is also most likely because of other members help and cleverness, their sacrifice, or he just got lucky sometimes. Yes PTSD changes him to be more cautious and more responsible in planning his actions, he trains hard too..but he is still the same person, he is not the most capable person in doing this revenge thing (skill, intelligence, emotional control, dll)... so I think every clumsy decision he makes in the Season 2, especially when all his original plans go wrong.. it still suits his character. He is not John Wick.. or even not his smart childhood friend (that kills himself in the last game in Season 1).... He is just an ordinary person, who desperately want to revenge and stop the game, even though he doesn't know how to do it. He is not a careful planner type.. more an impulsive one. That's why in Season 3 it's really important that he gets every help he needs to take down the game forever.... I'm pissed with the "unfinished" ending of season 2, too.. But overall experience is so enjoyable and tense to watch ❤❤ Can't wait for Season 3 ❤❤

I would say I’m a little disappointed. It’s because I did not felt that attached to the characters this time, not because of their acting, but because all of their characters were not well potrayed. There were alot of characters this time to begin with. Thanos got better potrayed than the 'main' people, so much so that I felt empty when he died. Don’t know if I’m being biased because it's T.O.P. They should have actually killed the mother or the son, it would be better because those two were the ones we were attached to more. Maybe they have a part in S3, but if they don't... Then yeah, this is where they LACKED. Maybe if we got to see the outside world more like in s1, it would have a better impact. I’m still attached to the story though, but I don’t see how they are gonna stretch another season. The cliffhanger was actually VERY good, but I wonder what they will do next. It’s not as bad as people are saying though, I liked it.
