Honestly at the end scene where he was in the hospital I just figured the old man was already on the verge of death so with the tug of war he didn’t care if he would’ve lived or died so of all the games he participated in this one was the riskiest for him and It would’ve meant a different ending for sang woo

That's how you get different genres and flavors. The organic mixing of cultures With the internet it's like the whole world is tiktok vids now, everyone having the same phase at the same time. I think it's a great show, and I'm not a contrarian.. but I do sometimes find it to be very annoying when everyone in the whole world is repeating the same thing.

All forms of media whether it's fact or fiction- transpire(d) in reality at some point. Squid game was based off of one mans thoughts- and those thoughts were brought to life on paper, and when it became popular on paper it was made popular on film with actors- and when that acting brought life to that story it was replicated by people for fun and entertainment around the world. One day, if it hasn't happened already- there will be some sicko trying to replicate it actually. Therefore, it is most definitely real in the sense.

@@Andy90B ugh, I know, men are stronger. But Sang-woo was insisting that men are better to have on their team even before he knew what the game was. Like Gi-hun said, there are some games that girls are better at. For instance, I’ve never seen a guy do well at hopscotch or jump rope, games that require a lot of balance and agility rather than raw strength. Women also tend to be better at hide and seek because we are smaller. All I’m saying is that it would have been satisfying for me for Sang-woo to be proven wrong either with a game that women are better at, or one of the girls being the one to come up with the winning strategy for Tug-of-War. Though I realize now that the old man’s knowledge of the game was a hint that he was the creator.

I think, when it's about your life, it is also a way of primal instinct to look for the "strongest". Sang-woo even advises Ali to hide his lost finger to appear not weak.
