I spent the last 20 years never having any interest in telecasters, or fenders for that matter. I don't know what changed in me last year but I decided to try one, completely out of the blue. I now own a telecaster and it is my go to guitar. Plays, feels and sounds amazing. I've not touched any of my other guitars since.

Many of my guitar idols growing up played tele. Albert Collins, Roy Buchanan, Francis Rossi, Rick Parfitt :) I found this guy last year, Felipe Rodrigo of Mercury Riots plays a Thinline and sounds amazing. And one of my all time favourite, Waylon Jennings.

Bought a brand new one on January 4, 2024. Plugged it in switched to the bridge pickup. DIDN'T WORK. Switched to the middle position . . . .DIDN't WORK . . . . . .switched to the neck position . . . . .DIDN'T WORK ! Took it back to the store and got my money back ! A Beautiful guitar ! Looks great ! All the blemmishes are very hard to see untill you look a bit closer. Made in Indonesia. Will remember that for the rest of my life. THANKS SQUIRE ! (Never liked Bruce)

It sounds good because it has a full 25.5 scale length..Like a Martin dreadnaught.This gives the guitar more tension which leads to a snappier tone..It also has single cool pickups which lends to its bright sound. Plus a maple neck (both maple and rosewood fretboards still have a maple neck)which gives it even more focus..The whole thing is very stable with a hard tail and no springs to dick around with..So..Stable-Bright focused-Simple-adds up to a reliable guitar that can be counted on.They tend to stay in tune and are among the toughest guitars…As Keith richards says=The tele makes a hellva bat!

Pretty sure Martins are in between Gibson and Fender scale, aren’t they? 25ish?

I bought a 50’s cv like you did. It was 0ver 9lbs. I bought the white one but it was more like pink. I should have sent it back, it was terrible. Action wouldnt adjust so I took the neck off and it had a big shim in it. Tone and volume pots were cheap, pickups decent. At that point, I had had enough and gave it to my Son.

I just got the same guitar the other day. Did you change the whole bridge assembly or just the saddles, I didn't understand. I just liked and subscribed!

I bought a Wilkinson bridge with the brass saddles. Honestly it didn’t really need it but it did tame the brightness and added a bit of presence to the sound. It was like the tray gave a deeper sound to the strings. They were like $25 on Amazon. Not necessary but a worthwhile upgrade if you find it a bit bright.

Should have purchased an older one I have a 2017 and the fret board is rosewood and the pick guard is mint green true to 60’s vibe . And the body on mine is alder wood not nato . And the newer models are made in Indonesia mine is made in China which I believe are more meticulously built for quality.

Naa, I’ve got a 2020 Indonesian one and it’s absolute quality, frets, neck, finish, pickups you name it. I remember the Chinese ones being pine to begin with 💩 the classic vibes are definitely made better than they were, which isn’t surprising as the prices are higher and they have a lot more competition

I use Ernie Ball 10s. I love this guitar. This guitar and my Deluxe Tone Master is like Fender heaven.

My understanding, Nato, is a cheaper cousin to mahogany, or even African mahogany. My understanding.

I think they are voiced slightly different but I’m not 100% sure.

What's so great about a telecaster ? Everything and nothing. That really is not an easy question to answer.

It’s always amazing to me that a lot of old school blues guys played teles. I just never associated that style of music with a tele.
