Keep up the awesome work Rob. I love all these squier reviews. Ive recently picked up the J Mascis Jazzmaster and was blown away with what squier has done. Almost immediately after that, i went out and bought a vintage modified jaguar. They get more play than my 90s fender strat. Really impressed with what Squier has done in the last few years

Thank you very much 😎 the J mascis is the best Squier about imo such a great guitar in everyway, I do also like the Jaguars as long as you fix the bridge on them, I have done a few videos explaining that

man, i cannot get enough of these hot rails! been thinking about buying some hotrails to replace my bridge pickup on my vm mustang, and now i'm curious on how just replacing both pickups with hotrails would sound. thanks for the awesome video! i love your channel, man. great to see you uploading a bunch more!

I bought this exact guitar recently and it is a beast.... 50 watt boss katana and this guitar are my happy place. Its plenty and more than enough to get over drums. I can move furniture and still have a little left on the knob. 👍

Class guitar....only change I made was I took the bridge pickup out and put a bill Lawrence l500xl....just filed the pickguard down to suit, so the humbuckers angled. Its a beast very versatile

Thanks fr this. Not a lot of vids demonstrating the cleans for this guitar. I'm converting a Squier Standard into a baritone and have a loaded HR PG I was considering as a replacement for the stock HSS PG. Sounds like the swap will work nicely.

The tonal range of those hot rails over the clean setting is awesome - you can see why their called hot ! This gives me a dilemma in that my Squire Strat could benefit from better pups and I was leaning to the MIM style ones. These sound worthy of consideration as well - which do you feel is the better choice Rob ? In the end I guess I would choose whatever gave the best classic Strat sound but would love it to rock as well.
@theguitarmanifesto
@theguitarmanifesto 6 жыл бұрын
and to be honest they sounded even better in the room, awesome pickups. If you want a heavier sound go for the hot rails, if you want a classic strat sound go for mexican pickups 2009 onwards they are much better sounding after that year
@VintageSG

Try and find the rail pickups made by a company called Artec. They make AlNiCo and ceramic variants. I had the ceramics in my Strat. A 500K volume pot and alter the wiring slightly to run the bridge through the tone control and all was sweetness and light. Well, it was with the volume backed off. It would crunch like b@stard too, when needed. They're four wire, so you could just run one in the bridge and add a coil split if you wanted. I've got an AlNiCo rail in the bridge of my Tele and a hot ceramic in my lapsteel. Great for graunchyness. They retain some of the characteristics of single coils, but have a real edge to them.

@@theguitarmanifesto I found a set of deluxe hit rails on eBay new. I want to put them in a strat I have, I also have some 300k pots will they pair and can a push pull pot work with these or is there any need ?

Man, your guitar really sounds exactly like mine :D The only bad thing about this hot rails are, that they can't handle that much gain that you playd with. But for this price it's a really good guitar.

The quality seems really good, especially the paint work (olympic white is really nice). I like almost everything of this gutar: lacquer neck, rosewood fretboard, 2 pivots bridge, block saddles, white Pickguard & black plastics/pickups... The only thing that I don't like too much is the square shape of the pickups...and maybe even the big headstock. I should try one for sure.

Thinking of picking one of these up used since they don't seem to be in production anymore. Question for you... I'm a huge Corgan/SP fan and I was wondering if you could drop in a loaded pickguard with Corgan's DiMarzio pickups? It would be a lot less expensive than his signature Strat!

Exactly like my Aria Pro Start, except mine has white pup covers, knobs, switch. I did buy some black covers and knobs and switch for it though. But I like the all white look for now. The pups in it are standard Aria Pro fare: that is to say they aren't out of this world good, but they are pretty decent. It cost me 100 quid. It's made in Indonesia as well I think. The fretwork is excellent and the fit and finish is also excellent for a 100 quid guitar. I love it. I bought 3 hotrail pups from China for about 15 quid (yeah, I know) - but they are supposed to be really excellent. Who knows? I haven't tried them yet. Won't be putting them in this guitar anyway - happy with the pups I got for now. There's so much you can do with a white Strat. Put on a black scratch plate, put on black or white fittings. All really change the look and feel of it. Maybe it's not such an amazing guitar, but I can't really fault it for the money. That Squier is very very nice though, and those pups sound pretty good to me.

Watched a few videos on them Arias sound pretty decent and look the part. Thats the thing I like about Strats you can mod everything on them and there is a so many variations of parts and colours etc. It's Indonesian so it's gonna be darn good, for 15 quid gotta be worth a go?

All "Duncan Designed" cheapies sound hot compared to no-name Squier pickups - but they sound like bad distortion - you will get sick of DD's tone rather quick - get any Standard Squier for the 2 pin trem and get a 2nd loaded pickguard - there's a Seymour Duncan Loaded Pickguard that even adds in a JB Jr -it's a Dave Murray Sig Edn - but an ANGLED Humbucker Strat is either Squier , Yamaha, DIY or $$$
