Love the review on this guitar! Got my cyclone not long ago! I have a quick tip for you for keeping the whammy bar in place! I think the guitar originally is shipped with a spring that goes inside the thread. If you lose the spring; a quick hack; You can take apart an old Bic lighter, inside are 2 springs. The bigger spring is perfect for keeping the whammy bar tension in place when tightening! Hope that helps! Love the videos, Cheers from Montreal

I bought this guitar two months ago. I had this one and an Affinity at home. I had been trying the Affinity for three days, then the Paranormal came. I struck a chord in the same setup as before and I knew I had to have it! It sounded so sweet, sparkly-rich. I already had been digging its exterior, but the rest of trying it out was just double-checking on what I already knew - it sounds great. It is not so tuning-stable, especially on the G string. And the tuner action is pretty uneven. On high E I always fear I would break the string because you can give it half a turn with lots of resistance and it doesn't change tone at all, and then suddenly it increases pitch. The intonation was within a cent or two, I was really impressed. The Affinity shipped about 20 cents off across the board for comparison. I don't like the factory strings, too thick and hard for my taste. I think the little switches are great, you can do a bit of Tom Morello by switching all off, then bringing one on-and-off. But they'd probably need replacing soon if you do that. When I use the tremolo arm it goes about 15-20 cent out of tune instantly, and I'm not at setting that up yet. I get a lot of hum when going for the bridge pickup only, and it crackles when I tune the E string - I was worried about that until I noticed this phenomenon only exists when touching the tuner. Could this be a grounding issue? No idea, blind guessing. I bought it for 333€, which might be 360$. It's absolutely worth the money, it sounds great, it plays decent, and I love it.
@goregore625910 ай бұрын
You're probably right about the grounding issue which I'd assume would be an easy fix? In the video you can hear a good bit of humming coming from the guitar. Bridge pickups usually tend to hum a bit but as long as it isn't humming while off - should be fine.

I tried a used one out at the local guitar store in Daphne Blue. I always liked some of the more obscure Fenders and this one caught my eye. And what's not to like? 24 & 3/4" scale length neck with comfortable C shape, 3 pickups w/3 controls similar to a Jag but are easier to use, Strat style Trem etc. I tried it out and ending up buying it! BTW nice playing and sound, this guitar sounded very good in clean mode and surprisingly beefy with distortion wow! 👍

I actually spent some time and put all the jag controls/pickups (including rhythm circuit) in my squier hss strat! It turned out pretty close to the original cyclone... only with 2 jag pickups and the 1 middle strat. I didn’t know the original cyclone had 3 jag pickups with the same switches as the jag.. I just put them on mine because I wanted to be able to get bridge + neck tone and so the 5 way switch had to come out... and guess what took its exact place after a little grinding out... the pots from the rhythm circuit. Then I added a phase switch where the end pot would normally be on a strat.

Thanks, enjoyed your video review. Oh yeah, gotta have plumber's tape on the wiggle stick and a mixture of vaseline & powdered graphite or plain old chapstick on the nut. Have a few questions: 1. It's hard to tell but is the body full thickness 1 3/4" or the thinner 1 5/8"? 2. In your opinion which would be better for surf guitar this one or the strat I've been using? 3. Does the shorter scale length give a darker tone and is it easier to bend and fret the strings compared to the standard strat scale length? 4. How does this slim c neck compare to the modern c neck; the modern c on my MIA strat is chunkier for my short fingers as compared to the thinner neck on my '89 MIK strat. Thanks in advance.
