I just got the Squier Sonic hardtail strat in red and i gotta say i am very impressed by the fit and finish and overall build quality and it also sounds pretty damn good for a 200 dollar guitar.

Cool ,yes indeed it is impressive for a that price point☺️✌️ Mine is still on factory set up .. i hope i have the time next weekend to change the strings and set it up moore of my playing style

I bought this guitar and my honest opinion is, at this price point its one of the best. I have many guitars of every price point and this guitar is great for beginners. Just swap out the pick ups and its better than an expensive guitar because it cost WAY less.

Sound is the matter of personal preference. Squier sonic is more than enough for Squier sonic lovers

It should be understood though that this is a beginner's guitar....it's really not meant for advanced-level players. For the price, it's a great beginner's guitar, one that they can learn to play on

The reality is, you can change the pick ups to more expensive ones, buy better tuners and nut, swap out the trem system and its basically a guitar for advanced players. AND for WAY less money.

I picked up a right handed hard tail one on a lark yesterday, then realized the pups sounded really good. So I ordered one like the model you demonstrated. I just hope enough wood is there underneath in case I want to install a hardtail bridge later. Though I have to wait three months for it, because, apparently, they have to mine the unobtainium that they use to make the left handed model with, even though we live in the age of CNC computer machining. Yours still sounded good, and I'll see how much I can improve it with parts and fret leveling, etc.

I don’t know why Fender uses a skunk stripe on a rosewood fretboard guitar, it’s not necessary.

Yep it definetly needs one ,,,I'm considering one in my Strat although it has a "stacked humbucker" right know on it. But somehow it lacks a little bit of response with hammer ons

What with this syndrome: "good for a $200 guitar"? Is it the equipment that makes it sound awesome? Or perhaps our ears that hear only the good sounds playing? Or maybe everyone have stacked a couple of somewhat more expensive guitars and need to justify some vanity? When closing their eyes and ditching the receipt, 99% wouldn't even hallucinate the sound difference between a nowday Squier Strat and a Fender Strat. Because there is just none. Unless fatter guitar prices are musical instruments (they DO sound better)...

Well said , i have American standard Strat . I paid 900e it was used but it is a killer guitar . I have played more expensive strat and even have a custom made guitar and this little old strat just blews them out of the water. What comes for Squier they are not bad for the price . Mics are bit bad and the over all finishing quality. But when get in the price range of 400-600 with Squier you will get a pretty fucking good instrument ✌️
