This 40th Anniversary Tele is one of the nicest Squier guitars I have played. Playing through my old Dr.Z Maz18, a Strymon Flint reverb, Sole Pressure drive (Briefly), and Flux Liquid Ambience.

I have a 40th. Anniversary Squier....added Wilkinson tuners, Wilkinson bridge/saddles ...and Tex Mex pups. Killer Tele - especially the one piece neck. Great value! Nice playing, Don!

Hey David. Thanks! I agree, it plays and feels better than a new Mex player Tele.

@@Bluesgtar Thanks for your answer! Any comparison between this and other T-style would be amazing, always love to see good deep dives and comps on the CV (or 40th anniversary) range vs MIM or other brands. Did you tried the Harley Benton TE62 ? This is obviously an entry price brand but i heard a lot of positive feedbacks on their Telecasters.anniversary

@@kampfkatze6092 I'm getting ready for a shootout review of the Harley Benton VT series Strat vs the Tagima Classic Series T-635 Strat.. Let me give you a heads up.. I am not impressed with either. Stay tuned and I'll appreciate your feedback.

I bought the mocha one… put on some compensated brass saddles, swapped the pickups for 51 Nocasters, put in a pure tone jack with electro socket jack mount, and wired up a push pull for switching between series/parallel. It’s got great grunt, but also clarity. Plays super well now that I’ve done a setup and get it dialed in. The only disappointment is that I have a semi-dead fret on the high E string that doesn’t ring cleanly like all the other frets, but other than that, this guitar is rules. I have the action set a 4/64th per Fender’s recommendations and it helps the whole guitar vibrate and feel alive (which I look for in a guitar), but I wonder if it’s possible to keep that same resonance while lowering the action just a hair (if I do that now, the low E and A string buzz a bit… maybe shim the neck?

Hey Jason thanks for watching..Nice choices for upgrades. Is it possible you could have a high fret somewhere causing the high E string problem? I've been using a neck check gauge for setting my string height for years now. It sits on the neck itself at the 17th fret and I can set each string to the exact same height. Its always tricky with the brass saddle bridges but if I can't get the same height from the first fret to the last and the neck is straight then it usually needs a shim.. Usually a .25 is enough to make it perfect.... Usually lol.

Very nice playing Don. I bought the same Squier and I love it, but mine has a very muddy neck pickup. I will have to buy a set of Tonerider pickups.

Your amp is so much more important than your guitar. Id rather have a Squire with a Z than a Fender with a Gorilla lol. If you can afford both like Brad Paisley then hey!
