It's amazing that you can get if you don't need to see "Fender" on the headstock.

I picked up a CV jazz bass and an Affinity p-bass because of the build quality, which is fantastic at the price. The p-bass will probably get some hardware upgrades, but the j-bass doesn't really warrant them because it's good enough for my needs. Can't fault the bodies or necks of either.

I have one of these basses, have never noticed the neck dive. The Limited Edition is the color and matching headstock, which you can only get from one retailer. Fortunately that retailer deeply discounts the bass from time to time and I paid quite a bit less for it. I wasn't as enamored of the glossy neck, but that was easy to fix with a light application of a green 3M pad. I really like this bass.

New bass player- I have this one (very same model) and a fire mist gold mustang bass. They are very different animals. Love them both. I take the squire with me when I travel. I have not gotten around to getting a fender player p bass because this p bass is so satisfying to play. Thanks for the review, it does validate my purchase.

Picked one up yesterday. This video helped convince me to check it out in person. This guitar looks and plays like a higher priced instrument. (After you change the pickguard) I swapped the pickguard to a black one and it looks less like a beginner instrument now. Just wanted to say thanks for making this video.

I am just learning to bass. Love the greenish basses, and that one is nice. Not sure about the thick p style necks as a guitar player though. The block inlays on the 70's version seriously catch my eye. Really need to get a bass amp to practice with and have been looking at the boss katana bass 160w because it has a gaggle of boss bass effects built in. Any thoughts on the katana 160w vs rumble 200-500 vs random 15 inch cab and amp head? The expensive markbass, gk, bla bla stuff is out of my budget and I don't want to buy an amp that I will outgrow in a year.

@BobBlackBass Жыл бұрын
Hey Charles, I tried a Katana and wasn't blown away by it. I think the Rumble amps are quite good though I'd probably go with the 800. If you play correctly and don't grab the neck like a baseball bat, you'll be ok. Good luck and keep me posted with your progress!

@@BobBlackBass Do you mean the 800 with the effects or 800 plain version? Thanks for the advice. I appreciate you sharing your experience in the field. I watch a bunch of channels like nikki tedesco, stevekonbass, talkingbass, cici bass, scotts bass lessons, davie504, and many more to try to get tips about playing and cop songs. my house was hurricane damaged so I have been slow so far as getting lessons and gear. I still don't have a main furnace but most of it is back together so I can't complain. I put some money away for the amp over time so I could get a half decent one. I always wanted to learn the bass and finally decided to make it happen. The players like you who make these teaching and gear videos online are a godsend to us beginners and amazing people. Thanks again!

What is the differences between Classic Vibe 60' and 40th anniversary? I like the 60' sunburst, but the 40th in blue finish is really beautiful too.

Bodies are nato on these, so called eastern mahogany, not poplar. Same with the GC 70's PBass in Squier surf green with the black pickguard. I like the looks of this one better, great blue for an aged mint green pickguard. When on-sale these can be good bargains if you get a good example, usually $350-370. That's all the more $ saved for a banging Curtis Novak pickup like the PB-90!

Great review Bob but unfortunately they're all probably going to be neck heavy I'm a woodworker a cabinet maker for a living and because the base has a poplar body which generally is much lighter than Ash or alder depending on the cut of course the Maple and Laurel in the neck r just denser woods I'm betting that that its neck heavy because the neck is literally heavy but not that huge of a problem and I think what a great bass for The price if you're just getting started or maybe just want something different

Hey Mark, thanks for the info. I'm sure you are right in most cases. I do have a student, however that has one that is perfectly balanced and not at all neck heavy.
