The worse part for me being disabled is that it slows me down walking as I wear a full leg brace of all 10lbs it weighs and my arm dangles when I walk. I suffered a cerebral hemorrhage at age 20 which resulted in a stroke. At 65 yrs I’ve gotten over it. I had 2 children after the stroke. Changed diapers faster w/one hand then someone with 2. I can do everything thing w/1 hand so I’ve adapted! I’ve got a lot of empathy that I probably wouldn’t have had I not had the stroke. I wasn’t suppose to live but I’m SO grateful I did. I live life to the fullest now! Love your channel you inspire me!

I had a very small intro into the disability world when my 4 year old son was on high dose cancer treatments. He was in a wheelchair for about a year. The worst part of him being disabled was obviously the heath issues. The best was the people we met. In that short time we encountered so many wonderful, kind, intelligent, capable, caring and talented humans. I know this might make people uneasy but the contrast between the quality people in the disabled community vs the able bodied community was quite shocking. Nearly every single person in the disability community was generous, kind and incredibly self aware and motivated. It’s a strong contrast to general public who take for granted so many things because they simply haven’t had to worry about health issues or even their own mortality. It’s a perspective that I think many people with disabilities are blessed with as it changes the they appreciate the world and life in general. Watching my son navigate that time in his life has grounded me in a way that I probably never would have experienced otherwise.
@morgangonnelly56832 жыл бұрын
I think that’s why so many people say horrible things like “I’d rather die than be disabled” because it has been hammered into their head that their physical appearance and abilities are the most important things in life and that you can’t be happy without that. Being disabled forces you to look within yourself to find happiness and it seems many disabled people find true sources of happiness more easily and don’t take as much for granted.

You both look extremely happy & in love. Enjoy life. You cannot fix stupid or fight trolls. They're unhappy troglodites with empty lives. Much love to you both!

"Unhappy troglodites" 😊😁 one of the most poetic insults I've ever heard.
@maryrodman63432 жыл бұрын
You can't fix them but you can report them. They will be banned after enough negative reports. They ask for the type of offense when you report and I use the harassment or bullying option because that's what it is. Of course they create a new account after being banned...but it still shows them we won't put up with their slime anymore.

I have only recently discovered you two. You are lovely individuals and make a charming, amusing couple. I just ordered Shane’s first book! I have had many questions while watching your videos and wonder if you see new comments/questions on those old ones.

Serious question- I always have dark “bags” under my eyes. What is Shane’s secret to such a fresh looking complexion and such handsome smooth and pale under eyes???
@lc4life3692 жыл бұрын
Sleep is definitely an important factor. I usually never have bags under my eyes. But every once in awhile when I have a terrible night of sleep or if I take a quick nap during the day, I almost always wake up with bags under my eyes. I know you want them to answer and I hope you don't mind my advice. I think there's lots of other causes too but I don't know what they are.
@maayan18322 жыл бұрын
I have wondered the same thing, 😆 Shane has the opposite of dark under eyes, he has white under eyes 👀
@lc4life3692 жыл бұрын
@@maayan1832 I thought it was makeup to cover up dark circles tbh but I think they mentioned it in a video once and said it wasn't. Now I want to look up if there's a reason or cause to white circles under the eye
@jeanparish95592 жыл бұрын
Same here about the dark under my eyes. You live your life with people saying to you, "Who BEAT YOU up!??" And "Did ya get into a FIGHT!?" Or "Did your BOYFRIEND beat you up!?" There's no end. When you get prescription glasses though the full framed ones deter the onlooking eye from the stupid cursed dark bags. I'd love to know a cure! Not into time consuming glamor, pop culture methods here like slapping cucumbers or muddy avocado on my eyes though- no time for all that nonsense.

@@lc4life369 One time somewhere I read online that it's genetic. Though not to confuse bags with general dark underneath the thin skin below the eyes. Bags are biological and medical, but dark is more genetic I think.

Its crazy to me that some people would think that Shane has less value because of his disability, even though he's contributed more to this world than most do, or ever will. We love you Shane 😍❤💜♥

Grubbag question: what television children’s show was your favorite?
@lc4life3692 жыл бұрын
Yesss I asked the same question this time and last time but haven't gotten it answered. Mine is a little more specific tho. I asked what both of there favorite shows were from as far back as they can remember until now. (like from a toddler until now) and do they have a favorite show in common now. I hope one of our questions get picked

Monday Grubbag Question: my 10 year old daughter has a physical disability. She is a very happy little lady that lives life with her disability proudly but every now and then gets down on herself. Do you have any advice or words of wisdom for these moments? I love you two and your relationship so much! This video had me cracking up laughing!
