This is a great looking caddis emerged. I tied up a bunch of these today, substituting a few materials (including using woodcock wing feathers for the hackle). Thanks, Shawn!

That sounds cool with the woodcock!!! I’ve never tied with woodcock. That would be the perfect color. I like a darker hackle on my caddis.

Definitely "less is more" on those soft hackles. Nice fly, Shawn.

For sure. I’ve long been trying to get better at that. The half feather is the easiest way to accomplish it.

@@joutdoorsmen23 no I have an old friend building it for me. It will end up being more of a keepsake rod than a fishing rod but I will fish it some.

@@HolsingersFlyShop cool you might have to demo for us, with the Squirrel Caddis Emerger on one of your videos

I like the fly, I prefer the wet flies. How about a demonstration of your multi tool in a video. 😊
@HolsingersFlyShop11 ай бұрын
I euro nymph to catch fish but I swing wets to just relax and enjoy myself. I have a video where I show how I use that tool but I can’t remember which one it is. I will try to find it and share it here with you. Maybe I’ll do a favorite fly tying tools video for something different soon.

Really nice fairly simple tie. Thank you. What kind of tool did you use for the dubbing loop?
@HolsingersFlyShop11 ай бұрын
It would s the Swiss CDC Multitool. It’s expensive but the slickest dubbing loop tool out there.
