Squirrel pest control Air Arms S510 Slug on a mission

Out on the farm again and shooting on a relatively new feeder which has only been up for several weeks. As predicted from my last attendance here there is now more activity, with a couple unexpected surprises along the way.
As always I am trying to help the farmer as best I can with many problem squirrels which are causing damage to the woodland, taking song birds eggs and spreading disease to the UK native red squirrel.
This was a really enjoyable morning and sitting on my bean bag against the tree was surprisingly really comfortable.

Cheers. Yeah usually I will shoot the greys until they become wary of all the bodies stacking up, it's at that point that I have to recover everything so hopefully the next squirrels don't become too spooked.

Really cool hearing the smack of the pellet. What grain lead are u throwing I am using 22 cal. with 14.3 grain round dome. They don't walk from this, I think I am about 11 yards from them. Cool stuff keep shooting those rodents. I make soup with mine. Good eats and entertainment. Thanks for video.

Glad you enjoyed the video. I was shoot .177 with 8.4gr Air Arms pellets. Hit them in the right spot and it's lights out.

@Lancs Vermin Control thanks, I do have the .177 cal. Shooting 7.0 grain R 10 match, these have flat head. Thanks for reply, next time I will try the .177 cal. These do travel faster, too.

Here’s a thought,when you said the fifth one didn’t move much….you shot him or her lol,face on….I’ve noticed in a lot of vids shooting squirrel and rats…when they get a head shot from the side….they jump,and try and make a run for it….now I know a lot of it is the nervous system over loading….but think….when you go for a head shot on secret squirrel…..the brain is so tiny….that maybe,just maybe…the pellet is just missing or just clipping part of the brain,resulting in the dance of death…..but when you got it face on,I reckon you hit the brain blob on,try aiming at the eye….and see if it reacts any different…..just my brain fart….but saying all that…”damn fine shooting sir”😬👍

Hiya mate, Great shooting and glad you got the rat. Do you ever use slugs in your S510 or your HW100KT? I've always thought they may get stuck in the barrel of a sub 12 ftlb air rifle. Do they make a 12ftlb friendly slugs? As you can probably tell, I dont know anything about slugs. Thank you, Ian.

Slugs will easily fire out of a sub 12, however they aren’t the most accurate. You may get the odd slug which shoots ok but they’re generally for higher powered rifles.
