Three yrs ago, four "forgotten" acorns sprouted in my yard. Only one made it through the heat of their first summer, and I couldn't have picked a better spot for it myself. Meanwhile, my aging oak is fading fast and will be cut down soon. Sometimes I wonder if the squirrels knew, or did they just instinctively carry out their part...
