Also, most services have wonderful mobile versions of their sites, so for instance you can delete the youtube app. When there's a reason to watch a video, you'll go those extra couple steps of opening a browser and navigating to youtube, but you won't be tempted to do it every time you unlock your phone.

I force myself to use only ONE screen as my container limit. And I have to really think about the value of an app because of it. I then organize by colour as well. It's pretty to look at and also keeps me OFF my phone since I don't have many apps on it. :)

Pro-tip for opening the iPhone default camera, for me, is that waking up your phone instead of swiping up to homescreen, just swiping left!

I don't use social media so I don't have to bother with those apps at all 😂 but I love the functionality of my "utilities" folder with my most used apps, "budget" folder with supermarket/budgeting apps, "entertainment" folder for KZbin, audiobooks and Spotify.

Going through some phone apps today! It has been freeing to remember that even apps I might need in the future (like an airline app) can always be downloaded again later for the duration of a trip. One problem I am having is preinstalled apps... Android will *not* let you uninstall them. Even trying to disable them brings a message of "disabling preinstalled apps may cause problems." (I doubt it, when it is a game I don't even play, or a tv watching app I don't have a subscription with, but still it is a bit scary! 😂) The only option I have found is either disabling them (which means they invisibly take up space), or try to learn to root the phone (give myself have ultimate security control, which means I can declutter to my heart's content... but also could make a mistake and kill my phone.😬) In this case, would you go with sticking the clutter in a digital box in the closet and leaving it at that?

I'm currently working on downsizing them, slowly but surely. I've got the most recent ones just sorted by month (earlier were smtms by occasion) but at the very least by year. In my One Note I've got a folder + various pages with master lists (+ checkboxes ;) ) where I can check off having downsized (deleted out-of-focus, uninteresting duplicates) them + the date. But I too would be grateful for more tips + motivation help :)

Nope no sponsor and I was anti-iPhone for years until switching - honestly i love it for the functions and for graphic design. I would never advise someone to get a brand new iPhone if it meant that they had to go into debt to afford it! Honestly you can get some amazing deals on iPhones at secondhand websites like Gazelle and eBay. 👏

for sure! a few months ago I created a "backup inbox folder" and dumped EVERYTHING in there, in the hopes that I could start from scratch. I'm back up to 183 unread from just under 500..but still. tricky, tricky. (I also love the archive function, but I realized I was often doing that when I really could just delete.) I also methodically went through my folders and purged entire folders or most of them (but this was partly b/c g-mail was warning my I was running out of space!! ack! but I'm kinda glad I was forced to downsize. I also learned out to sort by oldest emails as well as by size to address those first) Could defs use another round or 7 ;)

It's too bad your videos aren't minimalist. Edit, the first 5 minutes had little use except to lengthen the video. There was no reason this was 20 minutes long. When people are looking for information they would like you to get straight to the point. Be a true minimalist.
