The guitar solo in Half light imo destroys all other guitar solos, yes, yes many are much technically and twiddly speed faster, but its the feel and emotion that Steven pours into this solo that make it my all time faveourite :)

been sitting in the garden contemplating .. the moon was full, shrouded in thin cloud and showing soft rainbow colours , broken clouds over head , cool , calm ... reminded me of the days when I did acid ...I dont need it anymore , just put this on :-)

There´s is a similarity of both solos ( half light of PT and Sugar Mice from Marillion), but is not a plagiarism. Porcupine Tree is absolutely one of the best bands of the actuality.God bless these guys.

It's clearly very deliberate, and I think it's a small homage to Sugar Mice, which deals in a related theme (a troubled relationship, a favorite theme of Wilson's). Wilson borrows all sort of melodic bits and styles from other people (and actually, Marillion has as well, but usually they are tiny snippets, not half a song like this.) Whether it's plagiarism depends on whether Marillion's lawyers care, and this video is still up so I guess not. It's a nice rendition of the melody, maybe prettier than the original.
