Moriah, have you ever heard of the book series Wings of Fire? Because there is a dragon that is called the silk wings and they go through a metamorphosis at the age of 6, which gives them silk spinning abilities and they grow their wings. Before this metamorphosis they do not have wings and only have wing buds. (And a body of course) And they look like butterflies
