just had a teammate call me the same thing after one goal, but that doesn't mean we give up. so i played it out and the teammate just sat there until he got dc'd. After he left the other guys let me win but the community does have to understand that its just a game. just because you may be on a losing streak doesnt mean its the end of the world. do better rocket league. we all 3 reported him so if he doesn't get banned ill be highly disappointed.

I used to be toxic and mentally weak and pathetic but that's in the past now. after watching this video till the end. I felt a great deal of pain in my heart as I remembered, I felt so horrible. The toxicity in this game is actually crazy and the same can be said for the chat in RL Esport. It's like kicking people when they are mentally down anyways, because we all know loosing doesn't feel good. The last events, the NRG chat especially, was just slandering the boys and to hear that you stopped streaming and even thought of retiring is making me feel very bad for you. I'm just happy to see all three of you healthy and in beastform on the next weekend even if you guys get last it doesn't matter for me.

It's absolutely infuriating. I just got back into RL after a year and half hiatus because the last time I had played (for a week straight I shit you not), all I got into were toxic lobbies with teammates throwing, arguing with each other, the opposing team joining in on the shitfest, etc. This was CASUAL, mind you. All I'm trying to do in that playlist is warm up, and I still get despised for making the smallest mistakes. I had NEVER been so frustrated in my life playing a game that I enjoyed so much. Rocket league is a competitive game and it can get frustrating. So beyond the baseline toxicity of the gaming internet, the dynamic of the gameplay and inherent stressfulness of the competitive nature is susceptible to breeding toxicity. I know I get frustrated when I grind, and whenever I feel tempted to get or start getting toxic (think sassy Nice Shot!), I know it's time to take a break. I have some tolerance for frustrated teammates.. I get it.. but there's no excuse for behaving like the way that person did. It says more about their character than anything, and it pays in dividends to take the high road and not humor it. Thanks for uploading this video Squishy. I'm not as familiar with you as some other pros, but I gained a ton of respect (and a new channel to subscribe to) for how you handled yourself here. I think you reflect how all professionals should practice their craft - with passion, understanding, and positivity.

If anything, it only shows the jealousy of some people, and even though I know that you already know that, it's really important to remember it - jealousy exists in people that want what you have. I remember I had less than 50 hours I was stuck in net just watching the ball & nice shotting everyone because I was amazed even at my opponents how they good they were, but they thought I was toxic and started saying how bad I am (at the time I didn't realize nice shot quick chat can be considered toxic to anyone). I've seen toxicity skyrocket immediately after Psyonix gave a punishment for leaving a casual match. No longer can you leave a toxic lobby without getting punished now, and since casual is now the same as ranked but with no incentive for staying, I've seen most people just play ranked only now. This game desperately needs its casual mode back that lets you leave if the lobby isn't fun to chill in. It's forcing people to stay in matches that are toxic because 99% of teammates never want to forfeit.

See, that last part of the video is why Squishy, was, is, and will continue to be a GOAT. Bro queued with a toxic player, didn't react negatively, still commended him on his attempts and plays, and even discouraged negativity in general, towards other teams especially. Honestly I feel the same way he does, you join NRG twitch during any streams, and chat is filled it "they're washed" "roster change" etc, like dude, how you finna come to the NRG chat to be negative towards NRG, but then all of a sudden they real quiet when NRG gets the dub. If someone starts getting toxic to me and gets under my skin (hard most of the time to not let it get to me) I’ll just remind myself that they are doing this for a reason, and it’s because they have low self-esteem and insecurity problems. What I always try to practice is staying true to myself and to not stoop to this level of immaturity, because these people have true issues that I hope they can work on and fix but it’s a waste of time to me to put any energy into it. Any anger I feel is fleeting and I’ll forget about an interaction an hour later, but they unfortunately have to live with whatever it is in them that makes them act like they do on a daily basis. I really respect your point of view Squishy. If I were in a similar position I would try to say the same message you are. I’ve experienced the toxicity of this game many times and all of them extremely unpleasant and destroyed my self esteem. While I know these are just people. The words they say are hard to ignore. Life and this game would be so much better if people were a little kinder than they are. I myself try to encourage positivity when it comes to games and just how I treat people IRL or online. I had these toxic people yesterday, the first match they did the usual "what a save" it was a casual, one of them was an s8 champion tourney winner, im gold 1, the first match I had a teammate who was amazing offensive and I did the defense, I rematched, my teammate left, the 2nd match they kept going what a save but only when they were in the lead? They kept asking "Were you even trying" I was always saying nice shot. I was like "Just live your life to the best" cause I think they probably had mental problems, so I did a 3rd game, they kept just constantly saying "Basker sucks" "Basker is twashhhh" these were coming from the non champ guy who was getting absolutely carried by his teammate (1st game he had 100 points teammate had like 800, 2nd game he had like 170 teammate had like 1K) but yea then I was still saying nice shot, These guys didn't stop. I left after losing the third match but before that I said "Hope you guys live a good life, if you have any mental problems just get better soon, have a good day." I was hiding that I was extremely pissed off. But yeah! The non champ teammate was even more toxic when he was getting absolutely carried, I hate when the one getting carried is toxic it's like idk how to explain it.
