Just two points about an otherwise excellent video. First, the tires retracted so soon after takeoff they weren't going into hot wings. Second, the variants of the family of planes known as _Blackbirds_ are the A-12, M-21, YF-12A, SR-71A/B/C. Although it wasn't a variant, an SR-71 sent to NASA for flight testing was called a YF-12C as a cover designation.

Very minor detail but actually it wasn't titanium. Is was titanium alloy. The ANS window is quartz I believe. I think the periscope didn't help flight visibility; it was rear facing and used to check various functions. Cool video by the way!

lol.. no. You don’t call airplanes made out of aluminum alloy or steel alloy. We know that it isn’t pure aluminum or steel. Only engineers and mechanics care if it’s 4130 chrome moly or 7075 T3 aluminium.

There's only one and it's not far from me up at Hill AFB. Made from a YF-12A fuselage/wings and an SR-71B trainer front end. It performed in the same role as the SR-71B for training new pilots.
