SinatraLennnon, thanks for inspiring me into trying more aggressive razor settings. I just shaved with my 62 slim adjustable on setting 9. Wow, what a shave!! 1.5 passes BBS. Normally I dial it on a 4 and need 3 full passes. Greetings from NJ!!

Cinnamon!!! What a cute dog. I'm with you about synthetic brushes. I own a couple of badger hair but never use them. I've been using my Phoenix Shaving Peregrino 99.9% of the time since I got it. When it comes to razors, I've never used a slant but I do "slant" my shave. That is, I the razor head normally but then slightly go at an angle instead of straight down or which ever pass I'm on. I started doing that after I saw an old ad from Gillette showing that process and it's been going well for me. Keep cool over there, Sinatra. Our A/C went out yesterday and the house is about 90 degrees! I've got a guy coming out today to work on it but it's not a good thing.

If you're going to get a second or new razor I do think you might as well get something different like a slant, rather than more 'regular' ones, and I'm 100% on the synthetic train too. When i started i got a cheapo Boar brush and even broken in that thing was just way too difficult for me to use, moved to an apshaveco 2BED synthetic and it's like magic, *super* soft and lathers with zero effort or skill required on my part.

M. Lennon, this was another great video from you. I especially liked this one, because you demonstrated how easily it is, to forget ones technique, when one is operating a heavy weighted, slanted aggressive razor, using extra sharp blades. But all in all, I thought you did fine. My shave today didn't come out very well, because I got razor burn. But, I did get a 98% BBS shave, so there's that. But I think my razor burn was caused by improper lather. Slants are just not for me, no thank you. lol

Need a little bit of advice. I recently got a Twig to use instead of my Supply razor because I like have more blade options. I usually get really smooth shaves with supply on the first pass even with a few days of hair growth. The twig has been feeling rough, I dont know if its a "normal" feel or if I just need to work at getting the right angles. Any insights?

Had the same problem with my twig at first. Held it at a too high angle (more like a de), so it was really more scraping then cutting. It helped me to put the head flat on my face first and then adjust the angle slightly. Maybe it will help you too. I love my twig now but use usually two half blades stacked (one de blade broken in half). Just feels better to me.

Where is that monstrosity made in.......the head? I had seen a similar made in Pakistan (bad reviews). I think there are only two slants worth using (Merkur 37 or German Slant RR and Fatip Lostorto open comb), most of the others are not worth the expense/experience.

Really don't like the look of the razor. I feel the same as you. When you use a razor it should be effortless and a pleasure to use, to make it into your rotation.
