Hey dude love your builds! How did that drift event go in the hardbody?

Hey thanks! It went well. I really needed a handbrake due to not having enough power to link over. However, we all had a blast. Truck handled it like a champ.

How can u tell if u have a bad lifter I’m working on my2012 Jeep valve train and vehicle has set for bout a month so with no pressure behind it how to tell if bad or good ?!

You should always install your lifters empty. Otherwise a lifter may be so full of oil that the rocker arm will open the valve instead and if that happens on a cylinder which valve should be closed, you know where this is going...

This video is more about cleaning them out, and checking to see if they are operational, not really about "priming" them. I think priming is just an old myth. I agree that filling them is not neccessary, but it won't cause this engine [SR20] any harm if they are full. Other engines? Could be a problem I suppose. However, they should always be checked for operation before reinstalling.

It’s the cam that decides if a valve opens so if the cam is in the correct position it wouldn’t matter. A lifter is basically just a shock absorber.
