SRB2 2.1 Low Poly Models Release Trailer

December 2019 Update: SRB2 2.2 is out and it's great! Bad news is this version of the pack does not work with the overhauled engine, however the new engine supports features I desperately craved when I was making this, with the biggest one being MD3 support and control over animation interpolation. I, unfortunately, have deadlines for major projects I have to hit before the start of the new year, so I can't immediately update the pack, but as soon as I have time I'm going to do a major overhaul to the mod, with many requested features, address some common criticisms, and try to make it easier to install and use. Thank you so much for all of your wonderful comments, support, and sharing the trailer and pack around, it has honestly transformed my life. If you have any additional ideas/requests for the overhauled version, this is the best time to let me know. Thanks again, and peace out!

Amazing work!! I heard about the 2.2 update and I had to get this game after not playing it for well over 10 years. It's changed SO much, it's almost like a new game. Can't wait to try the low poly models when you get those done for 2.2!

@@yukariyakumo1999 Yes it could. SSRB2 uses Doom Legacy. The Engine runs on 4 MBs RAM and uses Bit Mapping, something the Saturn EXCELS at.

Hey folks, thanks for all the kind words! I've had a few people asking how to properly install the mod. I'll be working on making a quick tutorial on how to get my md2s and the wad working correctly together. Very quickly though: You should load the wad through the opengl bat file included with SRB2 to avoid crashes. Doing that successfully, you should just need to type "gr_md2 on" into the console.

How did you get a polygonal model running in a DOOM engine, an engine known to use sprites for mostly everything?

@@skinwalker69420 It's pretty basic to assume this is the original vanilla dos version of the engine and not the heavily modified source port it actually is. Source ports can do more than vanilla could even dream of.
