@@ohmeohmicah I think that's all he really needs, IMO. Sonic can reach speeds the others just can't keep up with, and all he has to do is tap jump twice. This, combined with the physics, contributes to his insanely high skill ceiling, compared to the rest of the vanilla cast. Sonic, because of his limited kit, forces you to be creative with your approach when it comes to speedrunning, hence the reason for these insane skips.

i found a way with metal sonic (STRAFE camera only), spindash a little bit, release then jump, tap to glide, land on the ground, follow the path like you normally would do, until you reach the checkpoint, do the right path to do the skip, glide backwards and land on the tunnel, try not to lose momentum, change the camera back to the path, glide to the last checkpoint, do the jump before the spring, jump on the slope and glide to the end. (i didn't do it, i'm trying do the fastest way possible) Idk how to do it with SIMPLE camera, but i found a way if you want to try with metal sonic. Edit: i did it: 0.21.08 Edit 2: 0.19.17, way faster then before, but it was hard to do it Edit 3: i used a controller btw, idk how much you can with the keyboard and mouse.

the totally legit strat that doesn't require mods (lie) 1: go to the SBR2 Message Board and somehow find the Flying Sonic mod 2: download it 3: run SRB2 and turn the addon on 4: since the newest version available allows you to play as a modded character without using that one soc file some speedrunners use, you can instantly go to TIME ATTACK if you already unlocked it 5: fly and make sure not to hit walls (the vertical part of the flying is the same as tails' flying, the horizontal movement is where FS really shines) 6: somehow manage to get sub 10 seconds
