So, initial thoughts: The kart seems to be hovering over the circle shadow often, especially on steep inclines. The smoke trails also are kind of distracting when they're so disjointed from the kart and are 'climbing' the screen. This behavior exists with sliptide smoke as well in the current builds, but since they're always expelled in the opposite direction of your turn they aren't too noticeable. I imagine I'll get used to them eventually, though. That said, the plumes following the two back tires separately is a nice touch. The stars on jumps might be a little much, not sure if they signify something or are just for show. In general there seems to be more particles being thrown about. Track itself looks pretty cool. Big steep runs are a personal favourite of mine, and a long alt path is neat to see as well, not to mention it also being a spring-hall. Only area I worry about is the final section; that looks rather thin and long for large player counts to spam items into, not to mention being intrinsically a blind corner. Also, the speed pads might devalue catch-up items (not sure if the boost stacking is additive or multiplicative yet, which would be the deciding factor on that).

Honestly have no idea when exactly this is dropping or how much is done. But all this... It's just so flawless. What I like most about this is the implementation of AI racers (I'm hoping you can customize them to your heart's content (they'll start off with the generic color, name, character and all) so that it can become even better - just a thought). I'm not much of an onliner (though I do drop by sometimes), so this looks like a very good addition. Sure can't wait to start collecting rings, evading more SPBs and eliminating opposing bumpers (does AI support the battle mode too?)!

I dunno how I feel about the Rings to be honest. Espicially the Ring Item, there was nothing lamer in Mario Kart 8 than being in first and getting nothing but useless rings as the one item from all the boxes. At least give is a single banana so we can think about where to place a trap for our opponents. Rings only ever have 2 uses, dump just before the next item box, or use the moment you get hit (from an item you probably could have avoided being hit by if you didn't have rings). I understand it as a balance system to make it easier for player 2 to hit them, but the answer to that has always been give player 2 stronger items to deal with first.

Yeah, but I'll put it here You pick up rings, you call out at 20. Unlike TSR and Mario Kart they don't idlely increase too speed. Instead they let you get a free boost if you press item without one, the more rings you use at once the better BUT have zero rings even getting bumped by another player will spin you out, plus you'll be stunned more by actual attacks
