Billy was tuning the crap outta that car, and Tommy was driving like he stole it....Right down Broadway every pass. Most of the rest it was a huge smokeshow. Now Billy can afford the few engine rebuilds Uncle Bob has at his machine shop, and that S-10 can get back to racing a few more passes before it spits another engine out! That Bird of Prey (the Falcon), was the best purchase SRC ever made as far as a flat winning combo of car and Tommy driving with Billy learning laptop tuning of that turbo combo. He flat has it down, and rarely ever overpowers the surface. And the wins keep coming as Tommy 2 Guns rarely over drives it.

You know, That Mike Lough LS has been a WORK HORSE. The Falcon was a fantastic investment. Not only has it won a lot of $$, But the Holley System thats on it has taught Billy (And Team SRC) how to get there feet wet into the world of EFI and data logging. And in the fact that is also been a pretty low maintenance race car for all they have put it threw in the last 2 seasons. Honestly, its why we choose to go with a LS swap instead of a SBC in our 1986 Camaro (street/slow car) car. And then the wife can just get in and drive it (And enjoy it) and not have to worry about air fuel ratio's, Or anything elese. And with having a 15 yr old daughter thats just dieing to drive something with power, We can turn the parameters down and keep Miss Lead Foot out of trouble when no one is looking. Ppl can talk shit about LS engines all day long. However we have a 6.0 LQ4 here on a engine stand with 487-K miles on it. Came out of a van used for Amish Taxi. He bought the van used with 65-K miles on it. It was on its 2nd 4l80E transmission. But everything else in the engine was 100% original. Yes the maintenance on this van was done very religiously. And the only reason they parted the van out was the body and frame was pretty shot. You'll get that living here in NE,Ohio. And when we opened it up, the ONLY thing we saw was the center (#3) cam bearing had just started to walk a little. When we got it stripped down to bare block, and measured EVERYTHING the cam bore (#3) and all the rest where in spec. And to our surprise, As was where the cylinder walls. The only thing that really showed any real concern was 2 of the 16 OEM rocker arms where VERY worn and probably about to puke. But at 487-K miles,,,,, What else could you ask for?? I mean we're talking Diesel (Commercial) engine type miles here. And the heads, only had about a .002-.003 of warp in them both when measured with a straight edge. Even the valve seals where still soft. Along with the pickup tube o rings. And was still carrying 40 psi of oil pressure at 45-65 mph. And 30 lbs at idle. The inside of the oil pump was absolutely perfect. I was sold right then and there on these LS engines.
