As part of my exploration in Haputale, I went for a haircut. If you have seen my last video from Dikwella, I have been charged a lot - for comparison, it was 3 times more. I met Diva in Haputale and he was very kind to charge me local price with great service and a very fast haircut. Also, he is a family man with a small kid. Also, we added head massage to the service which was interesting for me and also the first time I have received such massage in hair saloons.
In this video, I am sharing the whole experience with no edits, for you to enjoy.

At first he was honest then changes his mind (19:23 "palla kalattiduvam" slang for "lets rip him off") and went from 500 (haircut and beard) to 1200 (adding massage). Davud is not stupid, he understood the jump in price instantly 23:46 and asked multiple times if it was the local price. At the end Davud got sarcastic and said "i'm gonna remember you and all the sri lankan people will watch you and see your honesty for the prices and everything" 29:34 Even tho he understood that he was getting ripped off Davud gave him more money. This should make the barber feel ashamed, because he tried ripping off a genuine man.

Exactly i noticed the same he said 500 for hair shave and beard trim. The moment Davud told him he got ripped off paying 1500 some other place he didnt say anything at that time. Keeping that in mind. Davud told him he wanted a head massage and grabbed for the opportunity to rip off Davud by charging 700 for head massage..ridiculous. cant understand why davud agreed to head massage 700 bucks. Maybe he didnt realise. Hardly took 10 mins.for massage. Davud you can give whatever you want after the services. It was too big a amount 700 for head massage only.

He was pricing his service reasonably at the beginning but later he changed his mind. Right at 19:24 he used a local slang to tell his friend from the temple that he wanted to overcharge you. As his friend encouraged him and he quoted about 3 times more for the massage. He did try his luck there but I hope he realises that he tried to cheat a genuine man. However appreciate you humble contribution and kind heart. Good luck brother.

Many of the viewers might not know Tamil and that’s the reason for not understanding what happened. In Tamil he said ‘Palla kalatuvoma?’ which means ‘datha galawamuda?’ Staying humble and donating is fine, but Davud needs more experience and learn to choose who the deserved are.

Not fast pace. One is suppose to enjoy it lol..I think you could use a real massage. Especially the neck. I want to tell you about the cost of cutting a men's hairstyle in our country. A typical beauty salon in our country charges between 350 and 400 to 500 rupees for a haircut. Currently it costs between US $ 1 and US $ 2. Even in our country's number one beauty salons, the maximum price charged for a haircut is Rs. It takes between 2500 and 4000.This hairstylist charges a lot of money for your hair and beard cutting. It's not a fair price at all.
