I have one question for the DW reporter, have you ever been in Eastern Germany Thüringen and other parts of eastern Germany. When we travel through Germany, it feels like that eastern Germany is another country in Germany. Compared to western Germany less prosperity, less business, less friendly people for internationals… I guess the reporter is knowledgeable enough to understand the underlying facts about those differences in both countries. Even in India , there might be lots of areas less developed compared to its capital and other commercial areas. I am really sad to say that compared to other DW reporters this lady’s knowledge and intelligence is in lower level. I hope DW will find some good reporters for the asian region in future who can manage smart people like Indian foreign minister.

Just because a similar situation exists in another country doesn't mean a reporter cannot ask the question ; the context could be different and the answers should be ascertained. Additionally she could be a DW Asian correspondent based in SE Asia without knowledge about Germany .Srilanka is a poor country which has undergone tremendous political upheaval in the recent past and the problems it faces are not the same as Germany which is a very prosperous nation ; the status quo of the host country should not dictate the agenda . The knowledge is for the benefit of the viewers and not for her personal consumption .

This is an interview with a head of state, you don't ask questions based on sentences that appear in popular headlines. How can she expect the same way of life in the commercial city of Colombo (in Western Province), the north, and other areas that were once violent battlegrounds for several decades? many investors are focusing on Sri Lankan ports and the development of the western province is due to colombo port,. Even the Chinese focused on the south due to the importance of the port there.

When they were cornered and were about to be rounded up, it was Rajiv who prevented it by threatening invation. Tigers bit the hand that fed him. India sent soldiers not to end the war but to carve out north and east of SL and planned big things. That misfired and had to withdraw.

2022 lot of losses in the projects 1. Solar energy production in Vavunia 1. Transportation improvement report totally wrong and lost is lost 3. Unnecessary development and loss of money 4. 2019 non blast destroyed the tourism industry its a big lost for srilankan investors specially my cousin invest 2 million in tourist board industry in 2018 after the bom blast he lost his business and his investment gave negative returns So these things need to be stopped

Sabbry should answer the question. Sri Lanka is not a welfare state. The interviewer rightly identified that debt restructuring is more beneficial to creditors and that is understandable. Without denying the obvious, he should have admitted the obvious and explained the reality. That should have enhanced his credibility. NPP is not a Maxist party. When it comes to ccountability, his answer was " what can the government do". He should have used the " Governance Audit" by IMF. His repeated attempt to defend the indefensible caused total loss of credibility. IMHO, a nice lie does not make it palpable. Only positive was his notion " Someone elses enemy is not nessasarily our enemy ". Thankfuly, Chinese angle did not come up. He is a half backed Jayshankar and some way to go. Having said that, he is the best this government has at this point in time.
