Welcome to our Sri Lanka series we are spending one month exploring the beautiful country and showing people why they should visit here!
In this video we go for a walk along the beach in Negombo west of Sri Lanka where we din’t expect to come across so many beach sellers. The beach was very beautiful we meet some kind fisherman and chatted to to nice lady sieving plastic from the sand. It was a great experience, but Reanne really wan’t felling well so we headed to a coffee shop to get out of the head for a while.

Hello and welcome to our channel,
We are Reanne and Ben living in Portsmouth, England. We have been together from the age of 15.
We brought our first house together at 23, got married at 25 and Reanne started her own business at 27.
We have been wanting to travel the world for the last couple of year but covid put a stop to it.
The day has finally come we have sold our business and packed everything we own into storage, rented our house to explore as much of the world as we can in one year.

Those white pearl like things you saw them sieving out are remnants from the ship that caught fire last June. It was a Chinese ship carrying crates full of tonnes of those plastic pellets and when it caught fire, it dropped a large amount of them into the ocean. These pellets continuously wash up onto the shore. Its a massive environmental catastrophe that Sri Lanka will be paying for decades to come. I didn't know that we had people sieving them out independently like that, though, That is new to me. Enjoy your trip!

We, as locals also go through this Tuk Tuk price hassle sometimes. Most of the locals use “PickMe” or “UBER” for convenience for the same bad experience which you guys face as foreigners while travelling. Apps like these can help us to get an idea about taxi charges from point A to B. You don’t need to use these services of course, but as a reference, it will help you guys.

Yes we do get a price from pick me somes to help us know the price but we also don’t mind paying a little more but just gotta be fair that’s all

Hello my friends, So happy to meet you back and glad to see you at Negombo beach. You can find many tourist hotels with tourists in Negombo and most hotels are connected with sea. But be careful my friends if you don't mind, some people are selling the things for high prices and its upto you to decide whether it is cheap or not. You can have many seafoods and club sandwiches as you showed me on the video. I'm living in Negombo and hoping to see you my friends. You are leaving tomorrow to England? Have a nice flight and come back again to Sri Lanka

Guys, always get into metered taxis others are rip offs... As for your last tuk trip of 2.8 kms I would have paid maxum 300 rupees... Also, so worrying and disturbing to see that vendors being a pain in the neck throughout your walk along the beach.. Finally, the dinner macaroni was a shocker to me with sauce all over the place.. 😂😢❤️ Feel sorry for you mate as you had to run off like hell for a pee wee after holding it up for a quite a while... 😢😂😂 Tnx for the great time in Negombo and I look forward to the next one with much anticipation... 👍🙏 Yours.. Hi guys, I did try to warn you about Negombo. One long empty Beach, with upmarket empty Hotels a few Bars Rodio and a couple of others, which I can't remember. A new masive new towering Hotel, probably with a view to massive Chinese Tourists in mind. Talk about killing the Golden Goose. Its a Monstrocity. The last thing this beutiful Island need is Tower blocks.. Good luck in Thailand. Iv'e been there many times , but I will follow you there.

More beach hawkers than tourists on the beach. Why do they even bother? I hardly think any local would buy from them. Going by their comments seems like an Englishman who said "lubbly jubbly" a lot, has bought a lot of trinkets from them in the past.
