The headline is not correct. Mr. Dissanayake cannot be described as a Marxist in the present context. He was a Marxist and the people of Sri Lanka has voted for him as he is a honest man from rural community far away from the traditional corrupt political oligarchy. We are not expecting a Marxist rule but an honest and transparent Government.

Mr. Anura Kumara Dissanayake or his party do not identify themselves as Marxist or Lefties party. They are a democratic more central / central-lefties approach. Sri lanka choose more transparent and common class man instead of corrupted family politics.

, yes indeed JVP is a Marxian party but NPP means the party representing Anura Dishanaka is a social democratic party. He took power to follow a non-Aligned foreign policy. Also, this appointed government is an interim government until a government is appointed in the next election. Because it should be done according to the constitution.
