Sri Lanka Travels (Dec 2023): Heart of Colombo

Greetings Subscribers & Viewers:
This is the follow-on from my first travel video. This is the second part my Colombo city tour, after the extended visit to the unique Gangaramaya Temple, the weather and traffic did us few favours and we managed quality visits at 3 additional sites and drive-bys at a few others. So, tag along and get a taste of some of these key historical sites in the heart of #Colombo #Sri Lanka. If you took a city tour, these will be some of the sites you will see as they are all fairly close and you can check these out over the course of a day.
I am always thankful for Wikipedia as my main reference for information and various fact checking (when I also cross validate with local and respected sources), and most of the details presented in the video are from Wikipedia.

I have vids in the works on the big sites and thinking I should do a handy tips for travelling in Sri Lanka vid. The food alone is worth delving into because all rice & curries are not the same! Actually I think Battle of the blues is the longest un interrupted cricket rivalry in the world, Even in the WW II time through the Japanese bomb raids on Sri Lanka (Most of the Schools in Colombo was relocated to far away towns) in 1942 , It wasn't stopped.

Thanks for your comment. I checked a few sites and to cross verify, and what I found I put it in the video. I am constantly amused how many times I have to fact check myself. In the Galle Stadium vid I was so confident that the MRF Pace Foundation started in 1986 - because they were discussing in the commentary I was listening to then - I went with it, only to confirm that it was 1987.

This is a south India style hindu temple. In north India , most of the temples were destroyed by Islamic invaders from central Asia during 10th to 17th century
