Experts with aviation experience know that it is wrong to divide total number of staff by number of planes. It is a very crude calculation. First must analyse the airline operation and exclude the number of staff relevant to providing services to other airlines. SriLanka provides the ground handling services for all airlines operating to CMB. Sri Lankan can be made profitable but needs a correction of some of the mistakes of the past. The effects of such mistakes are still continuing making SriLankan unprofitable.

File insolvency. This is a dead product. Financially not viable with the seat mile cost. This will be a big burden to the state and tax payers. To day in the Aviation world plenty of connectivity is there for the international traveller. It would be advisable to file chapter 11 with insolvency procedure ASAP. Cheers!
