Thank you for sharing your recipe. I made it and it was delicious. I did improvise a little and added a few extra ingredients. (Crushed mustard seeds, Tomato puree and a little coconut milk) I am sure it still would have been as good without the extras. I love your presentation. So far the best chicken curry recipe for me.

Tried it out today! Superb! I love spicy food and this was perfect for my taste! I am from Tamilnadu originally, wasnt sure what Rampa was, my Srilankan friend told me to pick it up from Srilankan grocery near my house! Also wasn't sure what curry powder you used so i used what i had at home! Pls let me know what your Curry powder us made of? Super dish, thanks! Making Ceylin parotta to go with this biw 😁

Bit late, but sri lankan roasted curry powder is what you want, not too dark for jackfruit (polos) curry, but darker than unroasted.

I like my food as hot as any other chili head and appreciated the very liberal use of the chili flakes!
@mikebuzz3 жыл бұрын
The volume of chili doesnt mean anything at all, it is about the flavour and the heat level of the actual chili. Sri Lankan food on average is not as hot as Indian food.

Can someone please tell me what is Rampa / Rumpe? Are these available in India?
@emilychambers50312 жыл бұрын
Rampe (pandan) leaves, are also known as annapurna leaves in India. You can use kewra water (pandan extract) as a good substitute, but only need very small amount. For this recipe I would suggest 1 tsp of kewra water

Hi to all, I have seen another beautiful and tasty recipe. Well presented but what I missing is to say with what you have to eat. With rice, some special bread? Would be nice to see the serving. Gret job, keep doing that. I love forein cousine. Light, fresh, healty... rest of the world shold learn from you. Stop eating junk food from mega fastfood chain. Do it at home and bring your friends there or do some party outside.. Cheerz from Europe.
@mistyford86685 жыл бұрын
In Sri Lanka, we usually eat it with rice. Or dip bread in the curry. Also noodles.

Which type of curry powder it is?

Sri Lankan Curry Roasted Powder, a good brand is MAs or you can make it yourself by blending and roasting the while spices, there are lots of good recipes on line. The Sri Lankan unroasted curry powder is milder and more used for fish.

We have two method of making curries in sri lanka.. Kirata (add coconut cream if you need less spicy) Mirisata (means no coconut cream.. more spicy version) its depends on how you want and with what you are going to eat it.
