The highlight of October 2024 Navarathri for me was listening to and learning from Mama’s rendition of MathrukaPushpaMala. This is undoubtedly one of the most exquisite compositions of Adi Shankarar offering a magnificent but Maanaseega Poojai to the Mother Goddess . Pusalar Naayanaar must have definitely taken cue from this wonderful composition to build his grandiose Agama-compliant and detailed temple at Thiruninravur - all in his mind . Listening to Mamas resonant voice as he sings the 17 verses brings you vivid imagery of offering to the Goddess in a brilliant gem -studded pillared mandapam an appropriate Aasanam, rich Vastrams ,glittering jewellery , fragrant flowers of all kinds , variety of Prasadams and much more . Thank you mama for letting us discover this gem of a sloka
