Sridhar Vembu of Zoho talks about training and hiring young professionals whom others disregard

Sridhar Vembu, CEO of Zoho, talks about his efforts in India to develop a 21st Century workforce, working with kids who only have a high school education, no previous computer experience and who can't afford college, yet his company can train them for IT jobs in 9-12 months. He offers insight into fast-tracking kids using concrete, hands-on instruction that gets them solving problems and doing real work.

this is superb. he reflects many ideas that i have . but this person has done so much. He has made a difference in some poor or unfortunately positioned peoples lives...wow !!!! very practical... it is easy to talk philosophies. but then to use and succeed profitably in business is an admirable thing...

Very well done Mr, Sridhar you have hit it right on target.. Making a programmer productive rather than just getting him piece of paper(Degree). And the other very valid conclusion u have made which is 101% correct. In most of the computer science profession maths is not as much used as it is hyped and certainly in college syllabus emphasis on maths is clearly over-hyped... Hope your mission is successful.

A very noble and a very practical approach, I have to disagree with ashitkvora here as of the 1 million odd Software professionals (I dont call them engineers) how many actually model artificial intelligence or do graphical operations which requires Trigonometry? Most of all work Infy Wipro and TCS can be done by the high school students

Man is absolute visionary. I am writing this at 2024. ZOHO will be likes of microsoft or google. Or It would breach 1.5x the value of these two companies. 1.This guy stays at remote village. Which gives him better health. He will probably fully active until age of 90. 2. I can't think of someone with an idea to make the students also an assisting teachers. Considering putting them across new batches. And getting bombarded with questions. This is intrinsic motivation. And makes learning faster which much people dont do. 3. People who worked in zoho. Have started there own company. And also they do have an hood intent with there parent company. It will work like an chain of events. 4. People feel good when working in zoho. Both the employees and customers do feel good. He still holds back them, They feel bounded and happy.

Sir iam also a mathematics lecturer in mathematics and interest in software jobs but due to teaching background nobody given job after my completion of m. tech in cs also not tried as iam not having command on programming if your company can give opportunity
