Human milk Oligosaccharides (HMO)-booming research. Prof Yvan Vandenplas

This video on current update on HMO is a recording from the lecture by Prof Yvan Vandenplas who is a renowned name in Pediatric gastroenterology, from the university of Brussels. This was one of the excellent lectures from the 9th Pedia Dubai conference, organised by Dr Sherif Mosaad and his team at Dubai, in December 2020. Amazing. I am 28 years old. Have recently started taking supplemental HMOs. I am one week in & Currently seeing significant improvement in my psoriasis, sebbhotic dermatitis and scalp dandruff. I’ve had these inflammatory skin diseases since early teenage years. They’ve progressively worsened over the years. If the healing continues with the HMOs at this rate I will 100% within the next two weeks. Magic stuff. Thank you for this science!

If a mother has ibd will her breastmilk be less likely to have high hmo? If this is the case can a toddler be given hmo supplementation to help build strong microbes. Also can thy help anadult with ibd?

Hi, I am not sure if a mother with IBD will have less HMO or just a lower level of a certain type of HMO. But we could consider probiotics in such cases as well

@@SridharKs appreciate your reply My daughter has ibd diagnosed when he son very young he is nearly 3 but has a virus at the moment he can't shake off coming on 3 weeks(not covid) they had that a few months ago and git over in few days. we thought he had improved but temperature and sleeping a lot back. im wonder if his microbes not good he also had 2 lots of antibiotics over last few years he seeing the Dr again later today.
