Yes. SD Burman did only romantic numbers with Rafi, Madan Mohan did few obscure numbers, LP/kalyanji/RDB did lot of general hits songs with rafi and SJ duo did of course super songs with rafi, OPN brought a very different RAfi , but Ravi went further for special solo pathos with Rafi ....which are quite unique :-)

It is felt that Ravisab is the only music director who was successful both in Hindi and Malayalam movies. He was a humble person and I am really sad that he is no more with us. I am not able to forget Rafi-Ravi and Mahendrakapoor-Ravi combinations with a lot of Chemistry between singer and music director.

It was Lata Mangeshkar who once said that Ravis music was unique-sab se alag. Ravi gave us some very outstanding songs and when he used Rafis voice they became superlative.

@@fareedmalik6777 lata used to avoid him and most of the time she remains unavailable for Ravi.but misfortunately her thankless sister Asha hardly credit Ravi ,OP Nayyar or Shankar jaikishan for the upliftment for her career except SDB and RDB. These Mangeshkar sisters very cunning they used music directors like commodity and through them out when these poor music director passes through theire thin phase of career. this kind of treatment Lata started with husnlal Bhagat Ram then c.Ramchandra then SD Burman then Ravi then Shankar Jaikishan and many others MD as well.OP Nayyar was the exceptional case who never allow her to be associated with.Lata Mangeshkar is no doubt the greatest female singer of india so far but sorry to say not a good human being.Mangeshkar sisters jealous nature destroyed so many prospect female singer career.there is a big list of their victim.

Naresh Dabas isn’t it IRONICAL that she won a FILMFARE award as best singer with Ravi and none with Shanker Jaikishan and Naushad. Remember eventually ALL Music Composers fell under the Asha Bhosle Jadoo. The last to succumb to Ash’s Jadoo was Kalyanji Anandji

@@fareedmalik6777 ji you listen any interview of asha she never credit any other MD except burmans.secondly lata had her own equation to play with MD s including Ravi saab.but Ravi music was not compulsive unlike Shankar jaikishan who gave maximum prominence To orchestra where as Ravi always used to provide much more liberty firstly to poetry and then singers versatility so Ravi could Excel well even with Asha Bhosle that was the major difference. thank you

Naresh Dabas of course it’s sad about OP being ignored. For me As some said ‘ without OP Asha ji is like tea without suger! She sang for him in such a way one knew she was madly in love with OP. Not so with RD. OP broke her heart by not marrying her. Asha magic was half without NAYYAR Sahab. Asha was not a cold hearted woman like her sister so she suffered. Have you noticed how Lata NEVER praises anyone truly. Ís half hearted praise always. Ravi kept Asha at the top as his banners were Big and lots of hit films for 25 years
