I begin my homeward bound journey to Australia with this flight review. Absolutely stoked to be on this flight because this was my first ever experience with UL. And I have heard so much about them and their legendary service, not to mention their amazing in-flight catering. The serious problems facing the country and the airline is no secret. They are said to be on the brink of collapse, and staff morale is at an all time low. So how did this flight fare?
An immigration issue made my arrival extremely nail bitingly exciting. I can look back now and laugh about it. But on this day, I was nervous as.

I have been waiting to watch this! I just flew Sri Lankan from Paris to Frankfurt to Colombo to Melbourne. I flew on an Airbus A330 all the way but am so glad to see what their single aisle offering is like. Would love to compare your experience with mine. Holy Moly 13K views! UL is a KZbin fan favourite. You and I are literally carbon copies of each other. I am all about food in lounges. The food in that lounge looks IMMENSE! By the way, how do you fix your camera on your suitcase? Do you use a special bracket? WOW the seat pitch and width is incredibly impressive. Far more impressive than many of the premium classes I've flown on narrow bodies. I was very lucky that when I flew them in June, the covid restrictions have very much disappeared. I totally fly UL for their catering. Sorry that their menu didn't have local fare. WOW the food offering is seriously generous. Hey, who doesn't love a random sausage? That is what I call a tea service. Lipton pales in comparison to Dilmah. My personal opinion. haha I got the exact same transit visa as you. I wish I watched this video before I flew into Colombo. Love how you also seem to get into little dramas. THis is why I love watching your content.

I just extend the tripod, open a little bit of the zipper on my laptop bag, and plonk the GoPro there. The roller luggage does the rest. UL is such a basic airline, but they do basic REALLY well! They do basic on steroids! Lol my comments about Lipton was really about the sad state of affairs of our airlines in Australia. I love Lipton, as I type this... There's a hot mug next to me.

That transit visa is useful if you get the free included Sri lankan airlines stopover transit. They arrange the transfer transport , which hotel you will stay at , the food and transfer back to the airport. You must apply some time ahead. And it only applies to some routes. But that transit visa is not the best if you plan to arrive, go and stay at a hotel of your choice and come back to the airport when you want. If I remember correctly, it took ages at the airport each time to get it sorted out.

I had a disappointing experience at the Miracle Longue at Suvarnabhumi. Wasn't much food on offer besides snacks and ice-creams, but it was around midnight. The breakfast offerings in your video looked decent. I did take advantage of the showers (however they had no hot water) after cycling the Suvarnabhumi Bike Lane that laps the entire airport pre-flight. Lucky Sri Lanka immigration let you in, I'd imagine other countries (including Aus) wouldn't be so lenient to those with Visa mishaps.

Your bike ride caught my attention... That sounds like a blast! I was preparing myself to get denied entry. But from the responses to this video, looks like I'm not the only one who got into this kerfuffle. The website tricks you into that application making you think it's all ok, until you get the visa.

I used to fly Sri Lankan back in the 00s, long haul from BLR and BKK to LHR R/T, via RML. The service was always excellent and it was great value. TBH, $900m is less than a lot of other airlines owe creditors. Normally, transit passengers don't go through immigration and enter the transit country. A stop-over is different to transit! And some of us still read real books! 😂 I noticed a USB-A port on the bottom edge of the seatback screen. Did that allow you to watch your own videos on their screen from a USB drive?

Yeah so it makes me wonder what's the use of a "Sri Lanka 2 days" visa. I would really fly UL again in a heartbeat beat! But in this instance, they weren't cheap at all. In fact they were the same price as CX, but I flew them anyway. Nah the USBA port beneath the TV is used for charging, I think.

Im on same situation, i applied a wrong visa because i thought i just there for one night( im transiting at sri lanka to maldives ) i tried to email to the immigration, but no reply from them, its been 2 weeks, so i'm quite lost now

Oh no... I'm pretty sure we aren't the only ones making this mistake. Because there no mention about no entry into the country throughout everything until the approval email! So hopefully there's visa on arrival and they're opened. If not, do what I did... Head to the immigration counters and tell them you're stupid and very sorry please help. Haha that's what I did. I find it stupid that they de-serviced the A321neo &, it was set aside on the airport apron because of their financial situation., like...the A321 neo would be less expensive to run because it is a newer plane.Than those older decrepit A330 fuel hungry planes that often breakdown needing repairs causing delays. Update 08-Aug-23: I applied for the same 2 day transit visa; got exactly the same email ; and was stamped through in 30 seconds without question, for 2 days.

Transit visa doesn't allow you to enter Sri Lanka. Apply for a tourist visa for USD25.00. Good luck!

You had the two day visa; why didn't the Sri Lankan immigration accept this?

It is a 2 day TRANSIT visa. Entry into country not permitted, which was stated in the visa. That's why I got denied entry initially.

From the responses I've received in this video, looks like a lot of us have made this same mistake. Glad I'm not alone in this.

Dont worry friend. Sri Lanka is not so tough on foriegners the whole country is yearning for $$. They dont want to loose you. Visa on arrival counter closure is not acceptable. That may be the reason they allowed you after a few questions to cover up thier miss😂😂😂

Sri Lankan Police have actually raided many hotels with drug dealers from China, India, USA and Australia in the past. Also there are many Europeans and Americans living in Sri Lanka. Look for the channel "Where's Lucie?", she's a British woman living in Sri Lanka with her Sri Lankan husband.
