This is getting a suspiciously small amount of air-play compared to other revelations of archaic admixture.

There is nothing suspicious happening here. This gets less attention because the results are more speculative as they are based on statistical analysis and not actual DNA like in the case of Neanderthals.

That archaic ghost admixture in subsharan Africans explains why they look and behave like a totally different species from the rest of humanity.

Is it proof that some populations are more evolved than others? [Edit] I'm not talking about generalizing and doing race comparaison. But statistically inside some racial populations we can find different levels of what we call "modern humain" (Homo Sapiens) some have less and some have more. But the fact that in some African populations (maybe more in isolated tribes like the hunter gatherer and pygmies) the % or archaic or very archaic humans is very high in comparaison to others
@topographicmapofbrazil
@topographicmapofbrazil 3 жыл бұрын
If by more evolved you mean higher amount of positively selected genes mutating/evolved adaptively to ones environment then yes sure some races are 'more evolved' than others I guess. But if this was the case it would also mean chimpanzees are more evolved than humans and the 'most evolved' race would go to Aboriginals/Melanesians. You're making the very common mistake most humans make in thinking apes such as chimps, gorillas etc are 'less evolved' than us when that really isn't the case (it's the exact opposite lol .) Archaic DNA doesn't mean less evolved genes it just means they have genes coming from a separate population. And if this isn't enough for you the human population with the least Archaic DNA are East Africans (specifically Horn Africans and tribes such as the Dinka and the Maasai not the Bantu populations that inhabit parts of East Africa today) meaning by your odd definition of less evolved = more Archaic DNA East Africans inhabiting countries such as Somalia, Ethiopia, Eritrea etc are the most evolved human race on the entire planet. So make of that what you will.

@IntroducingMrLucci
@IntroducingMrLucci 3 жыл бұрын
@@lif3andthings763 Neanderthal & Denisovan is not at all Super Archaic as this was classified. It's so archaic they didn't think it were possible to still exist in the timeline to be so close to primates. It's because this population remained isolated south of the Sahara, and based on the date of introgression this lend to a back migration of modern anatomically correct humans into Africa that interbred with the Homind populations that inhabited it. This is also why there's hardly any anatomically correct date skeletal remains found in this region of the earth prior to 40,000 years ago, yet is plentiful in homind remains, and this at the same time anatomically correct humans were already spread across the globe and those dated skeletal remains are plentiful.

@@IntroducingMrLucci super archaic? What does that even mean? No one suggested anything about living fossils. The population diverged away from the shared ancestor of neanderthals and denisovans. Your notion that it's closer to non human primates is just nonsense. Considering also that split was millions of years ago, you've kind of shown you really don't understand this subject matter.
@topographicmapofbrazil
@topographicmapofbrazil 3 жыл бұрын
@@IntroducingMrLucci Thats so very false, did you even watch the lecture? This species diverged from humans 625,000 years ago (meaning they’re a lot closer related to humans than they are chimps, gorillas, orangutans etc.) also that’s only ever so slightly before Neanderthals/Denisovans diverged from modern humans which is about (500-600k years ago.) The reason it’s called a ‘ghost’ species is because the species hasn’t been discovered yet which is due to fossils in Sub Saharan Africa rapidly decaying making it difficult to extract feasible DNA from them. The scientists here used a method where they could detect archaic DNA in a population without an archaic population source.

Does introgression with Denisovan and Neanderthals triggered the evolutionary leap in Homo sapiens?

No. Homo sapiens predate that introgression. And (it is known from archaeology that) advanced cultural practices associated with Homo sapiens where already taking place in Africa before the Out-of-Africa migration (as attested/known, for example, from early African sites like Katanda, Blombos, Pinnacle Point, Sibudu, Adum, Gademotta, Border Cave, Dieplkloof, Olorgesalie, and others).

@@naimulhaq9626 Perhaps, but Neanderthal/Denisovan admixture is not what made Homo sapiens modern or human or caused its "leap" (there is really no evidence of that). Homo sapiens were (and are) already fully modern/human in Africa (advanced cultures were found there and have been/ocurred there all throughout history. And non-African groups, all of whom have Neanderthal, and sometimes Denisovan, admixture, have been found at virtually all levels of sophistication and "primitiveness". Neanderthal admixture is present in all non-Africans including Europeans, Australian Aboriginals, Asians, Papuan New Guineans, Melanesians, Andaman Islanders, Native Americans, etc. And Denisovan admixture is present in Australian Aboriginals, Papuans, Melanesians, somewhat in Negritos from eastern southeast Asia, and at much lower trace levels in East Asians and Native Americans, but not in Andaman Islanders or Negritos from western southeast Asia.).

No. That leap is likely why they outsurvived Neanderthals and Denisovans. And it was happening in Africa tens of thousands of years ago before the migration that populated much of the Old World.

If these maps are correct then why do I posses 3.15 Neanderthal variants which is very high and I am 100% north west European? 97% of which British/Irish, your maps indicate lower neanderthal than Asian but DNA test show otherwise. As for Denisovan high altitude lower oxygen is a guess, they could be there for safety reasons and adapted like any human would. I really believe this presentation is a politically correct presentation.

Asians have slightly higher neanderthal ancestry than europeans. Neanderthal admixture occured in middle east before the asians and europeans split from each other. Neanderthal genomic segments in asians and europeans are believed to be coming from the same neanderthal population. (Neanderthal remains from Iraq Amud and Tabun caves) Neanderthal DNA in europeans eventually decreased due to low level gene flow with africa. (Because of europe's close proximity to north african coasts) if you exclude these recent african admixtures, europeans have rougly equal amount of neanderthal dna with asians.
