Wow ❤. It is soooo amazing the way you played around with a single character changing their personalities. I hope you reach a million subscribers soon. C'mon guys give this video a like for all the hard work she's put in...

Great video, i also try to " fun-ify " my portrait studies, objects or paysage. Everything becomes a bit fantasy or sci-fi just because it makes it more fun of a practice but still useful

Thank you! Studies are wonderful but they can feel so restrictive sometimes!

"The best time of year?" I don't think so. First of all, that's Hallowe'en, and everyone knows that. Second, that "time of year" doesn't start until Mariah starts singing *that song* (you know which one), and I've got her locked in her washroom, so there's no way she can start singing until she breaks that door down. This was the biggest thing I needed to understand before I could relax and start designing original characters: it takes almost no effort whatsoever. It seems weird, but if you need to think about what to do, then you're doing too much. Take a lesson from the anime/manga world, who literally embody the "same face" phenomenon (I know it cuts down on time so that the artists can concentrate on getting the rest of the story done quickly. I don't mean to make it sound like a criticism, because I definitely am not. It's actually quite brilliant): if you want to make a new character, then all you need to do is change the hair. That's it. Even if all your characters wear the exact same thing, if you have different hair, then you have different characters. Our brains automatically associate this. We instinctively understand that our hair is a reflection of our attitudes and our personality. And I think that's why I always start off with the hair when drawing my characters. Obviously, try not to do "same face," but don't despair if you don't or can't. Because once you draw the hair, you will immediately understand who this character is, and what will (and won't) work for him or her. The style and the colour will help you focus on what needs to be done; you will know what part of the face or body needs to be adjusted, and more importantly, how they need to be adjusted to bring that character to life. And you won't have to think about it for more than a few seconds while you're drawing or rendering.
