@@Schultzy1992 the 1990 didn't came in black the bike is a 1991 the 1990 came gray ghost with yellow inserts on motor to commemorate the Enola Gay and the Fat man Little Boy bombs they changed the color in 1991 and added black if the movie was a 1990 it would have been gray.

That's a HD I could imagine myself buying. Such a beautiful bike, and what a sound! Love the snark it makes when you shift and let go of the throttle. This is Arnold's bike for sure. Impressed with the fact that you ride bare handed when there's still snow outside, looks cold as hell.

Actually, by thump I meant sound - quality and volume. You thought I meant rhythm? Not at all. I've ridden bikes and scooters as primary transport for 28 years - and a Harley for the last 2.5 - so that's the terminology I use.

Okay, it has to do with the fact that most wear/damage done on an engine during use happens when the motor is still cold. This is because as the motor warms up to operating temp the metal pistons actually expand (How much it expands depends n whether it's a cast or forged piston) SO when the motor is cold the piston can slide back and forth a few thousandths of inch more than normal (Called piston slap) Riding it, and increasing the rpm's while it is cold makes the back and forth play that much more aggressive. I hope that's generally what you were looking for. At the end of the day you are not going to drastically mess anything from doing it once or twice or even five times but if you ride a bike 50,000 miles and do not let one warm up ever, and the other with the same miles was warmed up every time i would bet that the motor that gets warmed up will be in much better condition. Didn't mean to sound harsh I just love those old 80 CI Harley's and love to see them keep going well past 50K miles!

If you like Harleys we have an annual Harley Davidson race, it's not really a race, it's more like a couple of days were something like 50.000 Harley Davidson riders meet to exhibit their bikes and to hang out with other harley owners. Having had the chance of riding on the back seat of a fatboy harley ... omg do I want to own one myself someday. It's not just the look really. To me it's also the feeling. Really cool, I like it. Unfortunately it is too expensive for a student like myself, but I'll be saving my money for it. Maybe in one or two years I'll be getting into motorcycles :). Have you ever had an accident if I may ask? Do you feel comfortable on the bike? I prossume it's similar to start learning to ride a bicycle. It looks scary at the beginning but after you've done it you don't even have to think about it anymore and you become comfortable, right?. Also what helmet, gear, protection, gloves would you recommend? I don't want to go cheap really. Rather I'd like to be save, but have a good ride. Thanks
