I think Christian Braun is underrated a bit defensively, he may not be that athletic, but he’s still pretty quick and solid at switching to other guards and smaller wings, and he has solid size and length to contest shots, obviously he’ll never be known as a defender, but he could be at least an average to slightly above average defender!! He’s not bad at stealing the ball either especially in passing lanes! He’s got some sneaky quickness to him that a lot of people underestimate!!

I thought the finals showed that Dallas' elite offensive backcourt DOES NOT make up for the fact that their defense is pretty sub par, if not downright terrible. There were times that their defense was so poor that it was nullifying their offensive contribution. Take the other team in the finals, for example, the Celtics -- their backcourt was CLAMPS defensively and offensively they are very very good as well. 40% 3pt shooters, good efficiency, and constantly making winning plays. The only thing you can knock them on is that they don't take as many shots, and that's not a knock on their ability at all since its by design.

It’s insane to think you would put two role-players over Donovan Mitchell, SGA/Caruso, Luka/Irving, Morant/Bane or Brunson/Bridges. They shouldn’t be sniffing the top 5. Just because they play on a team with other really good players doesn’t make them really good players. Neither one is a top 10 player at his position and White isn’t even top 15.

Also Derrick White is near 50/40/90 and had a 40 point playoff game while having very good scoring output, and Jrue shot the best corner 3pt% in nba history. @@slugintub312 no, they’re really not. I would take Caruso over either of them. Dort is better too. Mann is better (although he is a hybrid SG/SF). If you are seriously thinking that White belongs in the same class as Irving, Edwards, Mitchell, Bane, etc. you are delusional. Your “ best defensive guards in the league” had a rattled Kyrie put up 35 on them one game and Luca with a bad knee averaging 29/10/6. Holiday played well in these playoffs but unfortunately for Milwaukee, he didn’t play like that when he was on their team. That’s the entire reason they went out and got Lillard.

@@SDesWriter White is significantly better than all of those guys. He averages nearly a block and a half per game while also being a much better offensive player than any of the three. Kyrie was in hell in that series and played like complete trash in nearly all games. He was fucking awful. Luka wasn't almost at all guarded by white or holiday that was brown's primary assignment. Derrick white has identical percentages to Bane and is more efficient than Kyrie especially from 3 while averaging 18ppg per36. You literally just don't know basketball if you don't understand why derrick white is just as good as desmond bane right now (bane will def be better but not yet)

Luka & Irving averaged 60, not 58. As a backcourt they beat curry and Thompson in points, in rebounds, in assist, in steals, and blocks. I think you can skip right over the Golden State back courts to see if there are any better 1-2 combinations before that. Also, Irving proved he can play defense in the playoff this year and while both Luka and Steph kind of suck at defense, at least Luka has height and can challenge peoples shots.
