This story clearly highlights the issue of mental health. One feels bad for the children who got murdered but at the same time, we also need to understand the pain in the murderer's mind that turned her so. She was a victim of child abuse and the real culprit perhaps is her mother alone. She too may have been a victim to think like that of her daughter and that's why it's important to break this cycle of mental pain and initiate healing.

One thing i would like to add to your analysis is that she targeted young boys and also carving of name in genitilia shows that Mary how mentally and emotionally unstable she became bec of her promiscuous mom and her shady clients. She felt powerless in front grown pedophiles but she felt vindicated by hurting male children whenever her episodes of trauma appeared.no wonder home affairs didn't deem her threat to society after she went missing from open prison. Because the real culprits were actually her mom and the grown ass men (scum) who took her childhood and innocence away from her.

I'm really sorry to hear that u went through so much more power to u🙌🏻 Okay so here is the thing how her upbringing and mental health justifies her behaviour I'm a psychology student and these days we are studying the development stages of child or human. It's evident that first 5 years of a child are the crucial ones and I believe in it. First stage is Trust vs mistrust it all starts with mother if a child's mother fulfills the need of a child like protection, hunger safety which in our case we think the baby doesn't notices but actually he is feeling all these things. If these are not fulfilled then a feeling or emotion goes in our unconscious mind that urges our behaviour, it can either be positive or negative mostly neglected feelings urges negative behaviour 2nd stage is still the same with mother if she is being told about her right or wrong and all this n that. What a child is being taught , observes , whats the behaviour of his/her parents with them , their environment all leads a child to somewhere If u study more of criminal cases u will see many criminals were neglected by their parents or were abandoned in early childhood or they felt that This justifies her behaviour coz she is still a child in learning stages if she got just a little just a little affection or attention from her mother she would have been better Hope u understood nd I totally agree with ur pov too but here's mine Have a great day
