Cause in track the vehicle is tuned for wide open throttle and if you are just cruising then the vehicle isnt doing its best that it wants

ONLY thing "bad" about Track Mode is that the Suspension is STIFF! Use Custom Mode and set everything to Track except set the Suspension to Sport..and it's PERFECT! **Side Note, when Transmission is set to Track, it will NOT shift into or allow 8th Gear..maxes at 7th Gear..which is also PERFECT!

Well opening the exhaust is the #1 reason I use track mode. Hear her roar you know? But I ran track 99.9999% of the time and I only slid when I wanted to. The only time I used any other mode was when the roads were not clear/dry and in the mornings when leaving the house.
