Enjoyed the video. I use a 20' lanyard to assist on relocating out on limbs. Limb walking becomes more and more of a challenge as you age. Ugh!

I’ve heard it called “akimbo trick” or a variant of draggin tail. The sling is great. I use a revolver on each end and keep an XSRE on a bit of throw line attached which allows for retrieval with a yellow cone. The benefit of natural union redirect allows you to throw a bit over an area you can’t quite reach or as you said, a gear free move. Just make sure the moving end of the rope is not being pinched by the weighted end in the union. Hope that makes sense. This move is a game changer for SRT and work positioning. Ps. PSA: this is not two tie ins. You need to still use your lanyard when cutting as the “second system” is not isolated even if you use a second bridge. Love the content!

Good video brother, that's something I have too start doing more instead of using my lanyard or flip line for limb walking. Hope your elm season went smooth 👍🏻😎

Yes. It went well. The technique definitely helps. And it is easier, in my opinion. Thanks for watching Jay. Be safe, brotha 🤙

I do something familiar. I use a 20ft lanyard with 2 prusiks on it (one on each end). I will unclick one end and attach it to my rope bridge ring. Your setup would be great with a tree with no central leader. Thanks for the tip!

Yes, that's a great option as well. I have a super long lanyard for some applications. You will love this technique for limb walking and shitty tie in point situations. Be safe, brotha 🤙

Havent used akimbo at work yet .but have it set for bluemoon..seems to be bang on for 160 pounds ..out of all the devices it seems i like it best but haven't tryed roperunner pro yet...i do like the security of 9.3 epicord no coming slack when un weighted..seems mechanical s all do that except zigzag.

Akimbo is really nice. I like the roperunner pro for some stuff, but my spring in the beak seems to act up. I need to give it a cleaning and some lube. Akimbo is my go-to for most climbs. Evergreens, I use zigzag mostly. Thanks for watching, brotha. Be safe 🤙

Nice technic could be really useful. do you have retrevable version of it that runs a little bit smoother than natural crotch? PS sorry my english is bad I'm from germany😅
@PoplarMechanic6 ай бұрын
You could make it retrievable with a pulley on the other end of the webbing slings. Use a ball, and the ball will pass through the carabiner and catch on the pulley.
