temjin is pretty strong mecha in VO and in srw tem can easily evade even the hardest bosses attack and same time can be quite a beast in finishing off his targets 10/10 from me for being the most powerfull mecha in history

Was counting Destiny as one of the Char's Counterattack ones because... well, it kind of starts as he's doing the Axis drop. Also, found a good way to make a tank work - they'd all have 6 or 7 movement, be reasonably dodgy, well armored, and have most of their weapons be long range, with maybe a shorter range machine gun and Full Open style attack. Throw on a beam weapon (possibly), and suddenly a tank is one of the most practical units in the game, if boring.

You're forgetting that the main draw of the game is having humanoid/semi-humanoid robots (and with some very rare exceptions, powered suits) bash the tar out of one another. It would somewhat go against the mission statement to go including tanks as anything more than support units/mooks.

Yeah, alot of giant robots have massively varying sizes, going from planet large, to merely skyscraper sizes. I am waiting for when Gurren Lagann gets thrown into an SRW game though... But I'm sure plenty others are as well.

@HakoneDrift Romantic Trilogy is just a catch-all reference to Combattler V, Voltes V, and Daimos, which revolutionized the Super Robot genre back in the day by making them have plotlines of some sort rather than play out episodically and boost the sales of its merchandise.

Then make it a TRANSFORMING tank. Hell, they've had Goldymarg and Daiking, but those two were always better as robots (and Goldymarg was only even useful for the hammer, in my opinion), and Getter 3 is horrendously situational in every game but Z2 and possibly W (I question W, because while it was good, the sheer power of Getter 1 and Getter 2's accuracy lowering attack made them automatically better 95% of the time.) Add the fact that I don't think the Guntank was ever available... yeah.

Actually, Masaya made Valken, Konami is the one behind the censored localized version known as Cybernator, and besides, who wouldn't want to have some characters who bit the dust make it, like if they do add Valkyria Chronicles, you can make sure Isara does not bite it, we can have FM2 Royd, Ryuji, and Keith rejoin the good guys like Katejina does in one SRW game, etc.

Sylvaria and Alicia are mechas in themselves to me. I can't really see them piloting one. The issue for me is the time period VC takes place in: WWII-ish. I find it hard to picture a mech coming from that time period, least of all a tank of that period becoming a mercha as well. However, the ideas are cool, nonetheless. Who knows?

It's not so much that patching the game is hard, afterall, Front mission 5 and Namco X Capcom got english patches done. The issue is more to do with the pages and pages of text which needs to be translated and then edited to fit in the limited space. Plus, translators need to be intimately familiar with all the series and their stories or else they'll have no idea what the hell is going on!

There's Ideon in the center, and to the southwest of Ideon are Temjin and EVA-01. Just think of the image as a compass, with Ideon at the very center.

Or they could use tanks. Just find an excuse to soup them up with some kind of major upgrade. Admittedly, though, this wouldn't work very well with space stages. But holy crap, what if someone from the Earth Federation saw the Edelweiss and gave it the ability to transform into a super-custom Core Fighter? And the actual Valkyria wouldn't need mechs. They've had super-powered humans before. Full powered Selvaria is at least as strong as Alberto the Shockwave.

Like most things in this series, it's down to licensing. Virtual On is one of the few series in SRW which is based on a video game instead of an anime and is the only one not connected somehow to Bandai. I doubt S-E or Konami would be as flexible as Sega and Front Mission wouldn't be a very good fit as Wanzers are more about customisation than anything else. They don't have any iconic designs either. Also, shoving mecha into a series just to get it into SRW kinda defeats the point...

Well, probably take a page from Dougram; while mecha are there, tanks and infantry are still important, and maybe the series are determined by the type of Mecha: Squad 7: Super Robot that utilizes Valkyr power unknowingly powered by Alicia. Squad 422: Real robots akin to Ryosuke Takahashi.
