lmaooo y'all confusing this man NCT's concept is fairly simple but bc of the sheer number of members ... well, let's just say it can get a little difficult The most common explanation I've seen is NCT is like Vogue NCT127 - Vogue Korea WayV - Vogue China NCT Dream - Vogue Teens? Idk that one lol but point is they're divided either according to where they promote (127 and WayV) or their age (Dream) They also have an NCT U (for United) unit, which consists of all 23 members, as it's a rotational unit, so regardless of what fixed unit they're a part of, members can participate in songs of different genres/concepts etc Sounds hard but it's not, I promise

so nct has 23 members total (currently). they do all occassionally come together to make songs with all the members participating (like nct 2018, which you can see if you watch their music video black on black, or nct 2020, which is their upcoming comeback that will have all the members in it). however, they are not just separate groups that could exist separately from one another, as multiple members are in multiple subunits and there is overlap. for example, haechan is in nct 127 AND nct dream, same with mark (the one with highlights who was rapping and fighting in this mv that you liked). another example is winwin, who is in nct 127 and wayv. plus, one subunit of nct is nct u, where any combination of members can come together to promote a song or comeback. so they cant just exist as seperate groups if that makes sense. like one of nct u's songs is "boss", which had taeyong, doyoung, jungwoo, lucas, winwin, mark, and jaehyun in it. another song by nct u is "baby dont stop" which just had members ten and taeyong. they can do anything they want with any combo of members through nct u, which gives them endless possibilities (this is what makes nct so special). they have done so many genres of music using nct u, because they can just take members that will suit a certain song or concept and do it (they have ballads, rnb, pop, etc.) I know it's kinda confusing but I hope this helped! you'll learn more naturally just by checking out more of their music and seeing what I mean. nct as a whole as four subunits: nct u, nct 127, nct dream, and wayv. Let me make this simple. NCT as a Whole have 23 members. Divided into Sub Units. Nct127- Korea based unit Fixed unit NCT U- Rotational unit can have just 1-23 members depending concept and need for the music. NCT Dream composed of the youngest members it's a rotational group currently but for the youngest members. NCT WayV is same like 127 but is based in China Also if you hear NCT 2018 then that just means all the members for that specific year. Which was a total of 18 members. Likewise NCT2020 is this year's unit with a total of 23 members. It's quite simple.:)

Basic intro to nct: Neo culture technology (nct) debuted in 2016 with the concept of unlimited members divided into sub-units. There's 23 (2 added just a few days ago) members right now. However the subunits with 7- 10 members only usually produce content separately without any connection to other units so its not overwhelming to watch. Sub-units are: Nct 127- Fixed 10 members. Main content makers. Rappers Mark & taeyong are in superM also. Nct dream- Unit with very young idols (14-17 years) who were supposed to graduate from group after becoming 19 yrs old but after mark graduated & 4 of them were supposed to graduate leaving just 2 behind, fan's demanded a fixed unit so now all fixed 7 members including mark are in it. Nct U- Rotational unit. For each album, any member from nct who fits the concept is put in. They produce different genres' for each album. WayV- Chinese subunit of fixed 7 members so they mostly produce chinese songs but they've got a few english ones as well. Ten & lucas are in superM. Members are allowed to be in multiple sub-units, Mark & haechan are in both 127 & Dream and Winwin is in 127 & Wayv. All other members are in 1 unit only if u ignore nct u. Once in a while they all join together such as nct 2018 & 2020 so they're still a single group but its not that complicated as everyone says it is.

How to recognize the members: stare at a picture of each one for like 5 minutes and analyze every facial feature until you're used to the member. Then watch interviews where they introduce themselves, then it'll stick in your brain and you'll be confused as to how you got them mixed up. It's how I learnt all 21 members in 1 day. Also I recommend searching up photos of each member in this specific music video so you know who was who. Like: 'Johnny Kick It', 'Taeil Kick It', 'Jungwoo Kick It', 'Haechan Kick It', 'Taeyong Kick It', 'Mark Kick It', 'Yuta Kick It', 'Doyoung Kick It', 'Jaehyung Kick It'. Then click on images and look at each member and repeat the name aloud, then rewatch the music video and you'll recognize them.

The concept of NCT all the members is to not have limits in their music. They have sub groups and work on different projects. They have a few song with all the members and it's breathtaking Some of the units Wayv Exo SuperM Shinee I count these as NCT cause of the mixture of members. NCT 2018 NCT U NCT 127 NCT DREAM I'm sorry if I'm missing any So a little example is that Mark Lee is part of SuperM , 127, and Dream but he's also crossed over to U. The basis is that what ever sounds best, what ever flows best and also age can be a factor. Nct u is mixed of all the teams swapping inland out and adding members like Avengers Nct 127 is a group formed that is leading from Seoul to the rest of the world NCT Dream is mostly their youngest members and even know Mark is older now because the whole over all concept is not to have limits he's still in Dream lol. Exo has some of the members from all over as well SuperM has a mix of nct, wayv ,shinee and exo. They often work on different projects and sometimes have two versions of a song for concerts if members are off touring with different units. What's also amazing is NCT has a big diversity in their concepts also due to the diversity of it's members. It's all KPOP but they're not all Korean or full Korean. Example of this is Yuta from 127 is from Japan. There are members from Canada, America, China and all over Korea. Of course there are more examples and more information but I'd literally be here all day if I tried to type up all of it. Though I hope this helps and I hope I explained things a little bit well o.o it's hard when there's so much to explain even if it isn't necessarily complicated:)

I ended up checking your other reaction videos for NCT.. LOL So glad that you liked their songs. I just got into NCT 1,5 years ago, and they do have great songs. Btw, I wanted to suggest, if possible, pls check out NCT's senior from the same management company, Super Junior (Suju/SJ). They are from the 2nd Gen kpop, the OG of Hallyu Wave, and thw only 2nd gen group that is still active up to now. Next month will be their 15th anniversary. Pls check out their song from their 9th album released earlier thia year, 2ya2yao (read ee-ya-ee-ya-o. 2 in korean can be pronounced as 'ee'), super clap, i think i.
